OTC 20th Year Celebration

It’s been 20 years since OTC received its chapter charter from the AMCA. Members gathered at the

museum to celebrate the occasion and were

entertained with stories of the early days,

memorabilia including a recently discovered video of OTC’s first Pre-16 ride out of McMinnville and

BBQ dinner.

Several founding members were on hand to

celebrate the event.

September Meeting Minutes

Gene called the meeting to order at 3:37 on September 11, 2011. The meeting was held

outside the museum using casual rules of order.

Attendees:

Kurt Anderson, Philip Battaglia family, Chuck & Alice Beberness, Ben & Niki Beberness, Mike &

Shaun Brown, Chris Cutler, Jane Edmiston, Don &

Shirley Gabbert, Gary & Shannon Kelley, Joe

Koopersmith, Tom Krise, Jim & LaVerne Lancaster, Doug McLaughlin, John Moe, Sharon Mize, Scott

Nelson, Nils & Sharon Olson, Bruce Reichelt, Tom

Ruttan, Jim & Rosie Singhose, Pat & Carol Smith,

Pat Stevens, Gene Walker, Don & Gail Woodard,

Paul & Susan Wright.

Old Business:

Gene requested comment on the 2011 Road Run.

None was offered but those in attendance agreed

we should work to keep RV and Hotel guests as close together as possible.

We are awaiting the AMCA Board decision on 2013

National Run that is due March 2012.

Gene announced a new venue for the Old Timers banquet. This year's banquet is being held in the

Bob Lanphere shop located directly behind

Paradise Harley-Davidson on Cascade Ave in

Tigard.

2012 Road Run site selection

Ben took the floor to provide an overview of the

four sites suggested for 2012:

Baker City

Cottage Grove

John Day

Enterprise

Shannon suggested we might defer our road run for 2012 to support the Northern Rockies Chapter

ride in Canada next year. It was mentioned that

our road run helps to fund yearly club activities.

Following these discussions and Q&A, Gene called

for a vote. 17 votes were tallied for Cottage Grove. One vote was recorded for John Day. No

votes for Enterprise or Baker City.

OTC 2012 Road Run:

The Village Green Resort in Cottage Grove is the

host resort for the 2012 Oregon Trail Road Run.

Village Green Resort

Village Green RV Park

Registration fees, room rates, run itinerary, and

meal plans will be announced on the Events web

page when registration opens in February. Target dates are either July 12~14 or July 26~28. An

announcement on final dates is expected soon.

We’re looking for volunteers to staff the 2012

Road Run Committee. All positions are open.

Please consider investing some of your spare time in helping support next year’s event. Contact Gary

to sign up.

Bylaw Change:

Shannon proposed that we amend the bylaws to remove reading the meeting minutes at the start

of each meeting and replace this with a call for

changes. As meeting minutes are published in the

Trail Gazette and distributed by email, all members have the opportunity to review the

minutes before each meeting. Changes to

previous minutes will be recorded in the current

minutes.

A vote was called and by a majority of those present, the bylaw change was approved.

Meeting adjourned at 4:18.

October Business Meeting Agenda
