Anushka talked about her childhood hobby when she became a part of TV show "Yaar Mera Superstar" with Diljit Dosanjh to promote her forthcoming film "Phillauri", read a statement. When host Sangeeta told Anushka that she has heard that as a little girl she used to collect chocolate wrappers, Anushka said: "My mom used to hit me a lot for this. So, what I used to do is that when I was returning home from school - our school was very near as we lived in the Army canton- ment where school used to be inside only - so, while walking on the road, wher- ever I would find a wrapper on the way, I would pick them and even the ones that we aet the chocolate from… I would pick up wrap- pers from the road," Anushka said. "I (used to) think I'm a ragpicker." MUMBAI, (IANS) Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who will be seen playing role of a contract killer in his upcoming "Babumoshai Bandukbaaz", thinks murderers can be romantic at heart also. When asked if he will be seen romancing in the film, the "Gangs of Wasseypur 2" star said: "Why not? Contract killers can also be romantic." Nawazuddin was speaking at the poster shoot of "Babumoshai Bandukbaaz" on Monday. "Romance can be done in many ways. Every person has their own way to express romanticism," he added later. "My role is of contract killer 'Babumoshai'. He is different so his expression of love is different too. In 'Gangs of Wasseypur 2', my role was of a shy person who asked for permission to hold his girlfriend's hand. Here 'Babumoshai' is fearless. He romances on the basis of the gun," he told the reporters here. The action thriller film directed by Kushan Nandy features Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Bidita Bag, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Roopa Ganguly, Tota Roy Chowdhury and Biswajit Chakraborty. Nawazuddin was also asked about his thoughts on nepotism in Bollywood, he said, "I don't think nepotism exists in Bollywood otherwise I could not have been in this position today. Good work and talent may take the time to get recognised but always earns respect." MUMBAI - Vidya Balan has stepped into the intense character of a brothel owner with 'Begum Jaan'. The actress fiercely mouths expletives in the trailer. "The kind of premise that my character comes from, most ladies there use abusive language very easily. You can't be Begum Jaan and not abuse," says Vidya. The actress goes on to add that the character of Begum Jaan made her understand the pain of flesh trade. "As a woman and a student of sociology, I was aware about these things academically. But I experienced it when I did 'Begum Jaan'. Trading the body for survival is never easy even if you have done it 2000 times," adds Vidya. 'MAHARAJA RANJIT SINGH': AN INSPIRATIONAL TALE OF A 'TRUE' SIKH LEADER NEW DELHI, (IANS) "Sher-E-Punjab: Maharaja Ranjit Singh", an upcoming TV show that will bring into limelight the inspirational journey of Sikh leader Maharaja Ranjit Singh - founder of the Sikh empire - was launched here last week. Showcasing a gigantic set, especially designed by award-winning filmmaker Omung Kumar, royal costumes by Manoshi Nath and Rushi Sharma and flawless stunts executed under the guidance of popular Bollywood stunt director Allan Amin, the historical drama show, was aired on Life OK yesterday. The show will feature Punjab-based 14-year-old actor Damanpreet Singh in the title role, while actors Shaleen Bhanot and Sneha Wagh will be seen as his parents Mahaa Singh and Raj Kaur. "He always looked up to everyone equally and ruled fairly. The beauty about his time was that he kept all enemies away and created 'akhand' (United) Punjab," Abhimanyu Singh, CEO, Contiloe Pictures, said at the launch. "No capital punishment was given when he was the leader. Everyone was given a second chance. There was tremendous law and order. That's why we thought of making a show like this," he added. RANCHI, (PTI) Shaun Marsh and Peter Handscomb frustrated India with a gritty 86-run stand, taking Australia to 149 for four to be just three runs behind the hosts at tea on day five of the third Test on Monday. Australia did not concede a wicket in the session after losing two men in the morning, raising hopes of a famous India win. However, Marsh and Handscomb batted out of their skins to take their team towards safety. Handscomb looked solid in his unbeaten 44 from 115 balls (3x4), while Marsh was equally resolute in his 127-ball 38. The recov- ery act came after India put Australia under serious pressure by taking quick two wickets before lunch with Australia still 69 runs in arrears to avoid a first innings defeat. Ravindra Jadeja looked menacing as he used the footmark roughs brilliantly and got the prized wicket of Steve Smith. But to much astonishment, Kohli brought Jadeja into the attack only after 11 overs post lunch as Ashwin looked innocuous on the flat deck where pacers too were rendered ineffective. The return of Jadeja saw India bowling four maiden overs in a row from 50th to 53rd over. But the Aussie duo did not mind as eating up time was their main agenda and they were successful in keeping the opposition at bay in a session that yielded 66 runs from 33 overs. In a desperate attempt, India used a review unsuccessfully in the 47th over. Handscomb survived a scare on six when his flick to short leg was nearly caught by Karun Nair. Director Vikramaditya Motwane's film "Trapped" is a minimalistsurvival film. It is the compelling tale of a man trapped andstranded on the 35th floor of a newly constructed, unoccupied

building, in the hear t of Mumbai. The film begins on an unassumingnote with Shaurya, a shy and timid guy, falling in love with his col-league, Noorie. In his bid to star t a new life with her, he shifts from ashared accommodation to a flat in one of the unoccupied skyscrap-ers. That he is an illegal tenant, is a separate issue.Designed to cater to an intelligent audience, the film has all the trap-pings of this genre. It is well made and engaging, but never theless, seems contrived simply because the entire setting is far from subtle. What star ts of like a realistic film ends up like a fabricated drama - onthe face, breathlessly rushed and manufactured. This is evident, asthe director has taken enough measures to ensure the mise-en-sceneis perfect. In one of the earlier scenes when Shaurya is leaving hisshared accommodation, the television set is on in the backgroundand the host of a television programme states, "a… and the greatsurvive". This predictably lays the foundation for the events to follow. Also, what makes "Trapped" seem utterly fabricated is that the storytakes place sometime in Mumbai and the time in the film universeseems timeless. So the sudden downpour that enables Shaurya to fillhis refrigerator with water seems like deus ex-machina for the plot. Also, the thrilling factors are trimmed, especially when Shaurya es-capes from the flat by scaling down the grills. The film drags. Thereare moments of pure agony that make you squirm, waiting for thetor turous moments to tide-away. Interestingly, these moments alongwith the scenes when the tables are turned with Shaurya being atimid guy to a hunter, are probably the best flashes of the film.

As Shaurya, this is Rajkummar Rao's canvas and yet it is not one ofhis best performances. An excellent actor, he is stifled with the limi-tation of the script. He appears dim-witted and portrays a gamut of emotions thatare blatantly cheerless, gloomy and far from being intelligent. He excels in beingfrantic, anxiety driven and desperate. But the desperation comesacross as a half-hear ted attempt, probably because of the script.Geetanjali Thapa as Noorie is natural and sincere. On the production front too, with a simplistic approach, the apar tmentis not congruent to a flat in a newly constructed apar tment. And thebackground score fluctuates from being realistic to over-the-top. Over-all, the film makes you feel trapped in the auditorium.

For example, if you have an outsider, a big star like Shah Rukh Khan, why wouldn'tyou want to work with him?"The actress says over the years with what she has "experienced" in the industry, she has learnt thateverybody has their own struggles and one should not be judgemental about it. "As I am evolving, I am learning thateveryone's struggles are different. I am becoming less judgemental day by day. SRI LANKAN CRICKET TEAM CELEBRATING AFTER DEFEATING BANGLADESH IN FIRST TEST.

Punish those who corruptcricketers: Salman ButtKARACHI, (PTI) Pakistan's disgraced former Test captainSalman Butt, who has served a five-year ban for spot-fixing, hasurged cricket authorities to target those who try to corrupt playersat any level of the game. "The players are seen as the main culpritswhenever some corruption comes out. But I think the InternationalCricket Council and its member boards also need to think abouthow to also punish those people who try to lure players into fixing,"Butt said on Geo Super channel. Butt, who was the mastermind ofthe 2010 spot-fixing scandal during Pakistan's tour of England, saidthat until people, who try to corrupt cricketers are also punished, itwould be difficult to eradicate the menace. "In all fairness, weshould just forget about 2020 (Olympics) and maybe start working for2024 (Olympics) and beyond 2024, 2028 (Olympics). That requires thesystems, that requires long term investment, that requires patience. Weneed to set systems in order and hopefully those systems and thatinvestments that you put in through a significant amount of time, willbear fruit sometimes down the road," Bindra, who won agold medal in 10m air rifle event in 2008 Beijing Olympics, said during a session at the India Today Conclave 2017 here.

One of the improvements seenin his bowling is that he is not being expensive like he used to be in the past."I'm doing the same thing but the confidence level is high, having played more matches. And thehard work is paying off. When I was in and out of the team, I was not sure what to do. With morematches, I began realising what to do and what not. I slowly realised my strengths and weaknesses. Now I have a better idea," the right-armer from Vidarbha said at a press conference. "Once I understand the wicket, then I figure out if a cross seam ball will be effective or when it can be usedas an effective ball. It is about understanding the wicket and deciding on a cross or upright seam. WhenI feel the ball can jump up off a length or variable bounce then I bring that into my game."
