These tools help to plan schedules, manageinventory and monitor field workforce. It excludes companies providing construction, services and sales and marketingapplications which do not focus on increasing field workers efficiency. • According to ‘Markets and Markets’ research, Field Service Management had market of around $1.58 billion in 2014 andexpected to reach $3.52 billion in 2019. Field Force Automation’s market could be expected to be around $2.2 billion in2015.

• Services collaboration market which includes tools for knowledge management, collaboration and augmented realitysolutions will see higher growth compared to well established sectors such as data collection, suites etc.

• Over the years, there has been increase in number of companies offering SaaS based solutions. Greater number ofcompanies are preferring to adopt SaaS based applications because of subscription pricing, scalability and other benefits.The existing companies offering both on-premise solutions and SaaS products have seen increase in revenue share of SaaSproducts.

• The advent of commercial AR devices by Google, Oculus, Vuzix and others has made possible the rise of AR platforms inservices collaboration market. This sector has seen rise in number of rounds as well as total funding over the years. Theseplatforms and devices will help workforce collaborate in real time and find solutions to problems from remote locations.

• An increasing number of software solutions provider have been partnering with IoT cloud platforms to develop field servicesolutions. Some others have developed their own solutions, the latest being salesforcedeveloping its product Field Service Lightening on Service Cloud.

• There has been a rise in the adoption of these tools by the small and medium businesses. This is followed by rise in thenumber of startups catering specifically to businesses in this category.

• M&A activity significantly increased in the year 2015. Most of the acquisitions have happened in services sector in thesoftware suites category. This has mostly been done by companies either to expand their existing offerings.
