Company History

The company Tracomme AG founded in 1941 in Geneva (Transport et Commerce) traded originally with all kinds of goods. The import of raw materials, chemicals and additives became very soon its core business. Tracomme AG is a general representative of many manufacturers and some of them have been represented for decades by Tracomme in Switzerland. Tracomme moved to Zurich in the mid-sixties, in 1991 to Adliswil and into its’ own premises in 2012 in Bonstetten. At the end of nineties Tracomme started trading with laboratory instruments including support and service.

The Resimat is test device for the investigation of the pressure relaxation and the recovery kinetics of visco-elastic foams. The only instrument series on the market which is able to carry out DMA measurements with a maximum dynamic force of 500 N to 1500°C. Two high-temperature furnaces are available: RT to 1000°C and RT to 1500°C. Continous determination of melt flow rate, film purity, and transparency - within seconds on-line during polymer production. The SpeciMold produces polymer specimen in a single step in-line, not needing several process steps as conventional production procedures require. The specimen have exactly the same properties and characteristics as the extrusion polymer and are, therefore, perfectly suited for further mechanical property tests. Unintentional material changes are thus excluded. Density determination of polymers Brabender Elatest®

Automatic determination of the density by means of sample weight and volume. The sample material is compressed in the measuring cylinder. Any gas contained in the sample escapes during this compression process. Under a preset pressure, the moving piston reaches a position which is specific for each individual sample, i.e. the sample is compressed to its specific volume. The stroke of the piston is measured by a displacement transducer and transmitted to the computer. From the sample weight and volume, the computer automatically calculates the respective density.

Antifoams / De-aerators

Defoamers are chemical formulations with strong surface activity, which suppress undesirable foam formation or destroy completely existing foam (eg which occurs in waste-water treatment, paper-making, in the wash cycle in domestic washing machines, coating processes or in fermentation processes).
