work completed for the length of 15981m with 5 turnouts from Thirumangalam
ramp to Nehru Park. For the balance length, track work in progress. Trial run with
rolling stock has been conducted from Thirumangalam to Nehru Park.

Central Vigilance Commission the apex body of vigilance of the country has announced the Observance of st th
Vigilance awareness week celebrations from 31 Oct 2016 to 5 Nov 2016 and the theme for this year is
“Public Participation in promoting integrity and eradicating corruption”.

officers and staff of CMRL.
An essay competition was conducted for the students at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Anna
Nagar on 01-11-16.The topic for essay competition was “How to make India th thCorruption Free”. Several students from class 11 to 12 participated in the
competition with enthusiasm and prizes were distributed for the winners.

Prize distribution - Anti-Corruption Essay Competition for CMRL employees:
As part of Vigilance Awareness Week Celebrations, CMRL Vigilance
Bulletin was released during the celebrations held on 02-11-16 by the
Chief Guest Shri S Krishnan, IAS, Principal Secretary to Government,
PDSI Department, Government of Tamil Nadu and Shri Pankaj Kumar
Bansal, ,IAS., Managing Director , Chennai Metro Rail Limited along with
Chief Vigilance Officer, Shri B. Murugesh, DRO/LO,CMRL.
As part of Vigilance week celebrations, Posters and banners promoting
Anti-corruption were displayed at prominent locations of CMRL Admin
Building and all metro stations.
Vigilance department had recently conducted an essay competition with the title “Public
Participation in promoting integrity and eradicating corruption” as part of its
e n d e a v o r t o p r o m o t e i n t e g r i t y a m o n g C M R L e m p l o y e e s .
The awards were felicitated to the winners by the Chief Guest Shri S Krishnan, IAS,
Principal Secretary to Government, PDSI Department, Government of Tamil Nadu during the Vigilance week
celebrations held on 02-11-16.

Rolling Stock Work Progress as on 30.11.2016
Trains delivered to depot:
Trains commissioned and conditionally accepted by CMRL
Trains under testing at CMRL facility:
Maintenance of CMRL trains:
A total of 37 trains including
the 9 trains of import category, have been delivered to CMRL
Koyambedu Depot. Train 38 were delivered to CMRL Depot thon 07 Nov 2016 respectively.
¯ Nine trains have been issued with completion
certificate and seven among these nine trains have
been conditionally accepted by CMRL in June 2015.
The remaining two trains were conditionally
accepted in May and June 2016.
¯ Further, 6 trains have been conditionally accepted in
September and October 2016.
¯ The total accepted 15 trains are put under revenue
service of Stage-1 and Stage – 1A sections of CMRL.
¯ Maintenance activities on these 15 trains are carried
out by CMRL Rolling Stock Maintenance Team and
the warranty obligation is done by the contractor.
All other trains delivered to CMRL are under various stages of testing and commissioning in CMRL depot and mainline.
¯ Preventive maintenance activities on these 15 trains are carried out by CMRL Rolling Stock Maintenance Team and corrective maintenance is done by the contractor.
¯ Preventive maintenance activities include 72 hrs inspect ion, monthly maintenance, quarter ly maintenance, half yearly maintenance and annual maintenance.
Trains under manufacturing at Sricity:
¯ Trains 39 to 42 are under various stages of production
and testing, as per the schedule, at Alstom factory,
Sri City.

Thiru A.Abdul Sathar,Technician/Electrical has been nominated as the “Employee of the Month” of Nov 2016, for his valuable contributions towards the replacement of HVAC filter( Return air and mixed air filters),Wheel flange lubrication sticks replacement,Internal doors inspection, Rolling stock Functional checks and raising job cards to Alstom /Corrective maintenance. Well contributed in the commissioning of train wash and bogie wash plant ,when he worked under DM division and made wash plant operational for exterior cleaning or trains.

Publicity initiatives for St Thomas Mount Metro Station
To create awareness to the public on the facilities and safety features of the newly opened St Thomas Mount Metro Station.Students volunteers of NSS from Kendriya Vidhayala , Anna Nagar,Anna University , Valliammai College of Engineering participated in the distribution of pamphlets to the public and explained to them the features and fare information of the St Thomas Mount Metro Station.
