Among the lands, in the

breathtaking natural environment of the

hills of Oltrepò Pavese and the

rice fields of Lomellina, there are

six unique rural tourism farms,

each managed by a woman.

They tell the story of this territory; offering to

the tourist a unique and variedhospitality which is able to satisfy

every member of the family and

their four legged friends.

The story of Ludmilla; who left the city and her job at a multinational company behind, to persue her dream of eco-sustainability. On her holistic organic farm you will wake up to the smell of freshly baked bread, made with freshly ground wheat, using a stone mill and a century old sour dough.You will recharge with kinesiology sessions, or a dive into the salt water pool; or find yourself under the shade of the pear tree, surrounded by the unique panorama views, where the millennial Zavattarello castle dominates.

Here at “Tenuta S. Giovanni” rice has been cultivated for generations. Our rice is grown organically under Cristiana’s direction and cultivation. In this typical northern Italy farm building from the 18th century, time has stopped; we are still at the Court of Leone. You can taste refined local dishes after exploring the territory along the suggested biking routes. A rare and unique experience!

Organic wine producers on the hills of Oltrepò. The origin of the Montini family is very ancient, traced back to the 15th century. The most influential family member is His Holiness Pope Paul VI.The old master ’s house is now the setting for the agri-tourism where you can hear if you wish their family story while tasting typical local dishes and sipping the high quality Montini wine.

Here we come across a Benedectin Monastery that Marcella and Simona have transformed into a fruitful farm; where you can have a unique agri-tourism vacation. You can learn how to make pottery, take a horseback ride, or go for a walk in the local woods. You may follow a guide for truffle hunting or even take a trip on the river in a hover-craft. The farm hosts also a rural school which is also an opportunity for kids to appreciate better the surrounding nature.

Paola specializes in holidays for people with their dogs. She also breeds samoiedo and golden retrievers. Paola runs a leading dog training center; organizing classes, conferencesand pet therapy sessions. At her agri-tourism farm you will taste high quality dishes, made with produce grown locally. Her desserts are famous for their uniqueness and her special care in preparing them.

We are almost at the end of our story and we want to close by making your mouth water with the smell and taste of the “salami” (cold meat) of Varzi, a medieval town in the heart of Oltrepò Pavese. With its ancient charm, this town fascinates the visitor and Angelmina has skillfully learnt the ancient art of hospitality. In the old mansion at “La Sorgente”, Angelmina will treat you to the ‘taste of tradition’ with all the local specialties.
