There is a shunt resistor input for measuring currents larger than +/-10A. STEP 4: Connect any power to devices you want to be under relay con- trol to the CHI—CH4 relays. The CH1 and CH2 relays are normally closed (NC) relays so activating the relay will open the relay. Relay CH3 and CH4 are set to normally open (NO). If the WEB2 loses power the relay will revert to its native state (NC or NO).

Qwik Install

STEP 0: The TPDIN-Monitor-WEB2 can be used to monitor Qty 4 1V-80V Voltages, 4 Currents ( Qty 1 +/- 10A , Qty 2 +20A and Qty 1 Shunt Resistor input) and two temperatures (1 internal and 1 external). There are 4 10A relays that can be used to control power to 4 devices. The relays can be controlled based on time, temp, voltage, current, ping or periodic cycling.

STEP 1: Install the TPDIN-Monitor-WEB2 to a suitable DIN rail mount.

STEP 5: Connect the External Temperature sensor to the included green wire terminal connector. Connect the wires to IN– and IN+ termi-nals. The wires have no polarity. Plug the wire terminal connector to the “Temp.” connector location. Locate the external temperature sensor where you want to measure external temperatures. You can extend the wire lengths if desired by soldering additional wires to the existing wires. You can measure temperatures from –40C to +125C

STEP 6: The WEB2 can be powered with 10-57VDC thru wire terminal connector #7 or via 802.3af/at or Passive 24V or 48V POE thru the RJ45 PoE In port.

STEP 7: Download the Discovery Tool from https://support.tyconsystems.com. The TPDIN-Monitor-WEB2 ships with IP addressing by DHCP enabled. The discovery tool will find the IP ad-dress of the device so you can access the web control panel. If not con-nected to a DHCP server the default IP address is 192.168.1.6

STEP 8: Open the Web control panel of the unit by using the discovery tool or typing the units known IP address into a browser. The unit will serve up the Monitor web page. The monitor page is where all the volt-age, current, temperature and relay status can be seen. Relays can also be controlled manually from this page. You can customize all the labels. There is a cycle button by the relays if you want to automatically cycle a relay from on to off and back. The cycle delay is specified on the SYSTEM page.

STEP 9: Open the Network Page. Here you can set a static IP Address. You can also set access security by entering a user name and pass-word (25 characters max). You can also set a unique Host Name to easily identify the WEB2 on the network.

STEP 10: Open the System Page. You can change various settings on this page including time, configuration, offsets and config file.

Time: There is no real time clock so if the device loses power the clock will reset. Enable NTP to get the time automatically from the internet. Set GMT for your time zone. Or you can sync the clock manually to your PC Time by disabling NTP.

Cycle Delay: This controls how long the relay stays in the opposite state when cycle is clicked on the Monitor Screen or relay is cycled us-ing one of the relay controls.

Shunt Resistor: Set the shunt resistor parameters to calibrate the sys-tem for the particular shunt resistor.

Voltage, Current and Temp Offsets: You can enter + or –offset values if you want to calibrate the TPDIN-Monitor-WEB2 to match another piece of measurement equipment or compensate for cable losses.

Config File: You can save your configuration to your computer and restore the file in case you need to get back to a previous configuration or to deploy multiple units with the same configuration.

STEP 11: Open the Relays Page. This is where you can set the relay controls. There are various actions available (-) Don’t Care, (open) Open the Relay, (close) Close the relay, (cycle) Cycle the relay. The priority is top to bottom so actions above will override actions below.

Time Control by day of week: Set the start and end times and the de-sired actions.

Time Control: Set the Start time and End time. The “Action” defines the relay state inside the Start and End time window. The “Alt Action” is the relay state outside the time window.

Temperature Control: Make sure Low temperature is lower than High temperature setting. Hysteresis works to prevent relay chatter when the actual reading is hovering around the set point. Typically a hysteresis of 1 is a good starting point. The delay setting delays the relay action for a set amount of time after the setpoint is reached.

Typical Application: Fan Control: Set Low to 50; Set High to 100, Hysteresis = 1 Heater Control: Set Low to –40; Set High to 20, Hysteresis = 1

Voltage / Current Control: Set the relay low and high settings. Action will be performed when the measured voltage/current is between the set points and Alt Action will be performed when the measured voltage/current is outside the setpoints.

Ping Control: Set the IP Address to ping. Set the Ping Fails count to make sure the ping failure isn’t a temporary issue. A typical value is 5 or 10. The WEB2 pings every 3 seconds. Typical action for a ping control is “cycle”, to reboot the device if the ping fails. Set the delay so that the ping will hold off for long enough to allow the device to reboot and re-establish communication, normally about 2-3 minutes.

STEP 12: Open the Alerts Page. This is where you will setup your SMTP email server settings and email alerts. The WEB2 supports un-encrypted email servers or encrypted SSL email servers. Typical unen-crypted servers communicate on Port 25 and SSL on port 465. The WEB2 does not support TLS Servers, typically port 587.

Setup your SMTP mail server address and port in the Mail Server field..

Set the email account user name and password. Password field is 49 characters max.

Enter the destination email address in the Email Address and CC Ad-dress Field. Enter the From email address in the From field.

Click on Save Email Settings and then Test Email Settings. Check the Log file for results.

Note: Many modern email systems like Gmail use two factor security. When using WEB2 with Gmail you need to register an APP PASS-WORD with your Gmail account and use that password as your email password.

You can select multiple alerts. The alert will be triggered when the measured value goes outside the window that you setup by entering a min and max value.

You can also set a timeframe when alerts are sent and a “Resend Eve-ry” time so that your mailbox doesn’t get flooded if a condition is creat-ing an alert trigger consistently.

TECH CORNER Additional Information you may find useful

1. FUSE: The TPDIN-Monitor-WEB2 has an internal 2A fuse and an external 2A fuse If the WEB2 doesn’t power up, check the fuses.

2. LIMITS: Don’t exceed 80V on the voltage inputs or 20A on the cur-rent inputs or 10A on the relays or the unit could be damaged. This kind of damage isn’t covered under warranty.

3. MOISTURE: The TPDIN-Monitor-WEB2 is designed to be used indoors or outdoors in a weatherproof enclosure. Avoid getting the TPDIN-Monitor-WEB2 wet. This kind of damage isn’t covered un-der warranty.

4. BATTERY STATUS: If measuring voltage of battery systems typi-cal state of charge readings are as follows. These readings are without any load on the battery. For max battery life don’t discharge under 50%:

5. SNMP: The TPDIN-Monitor-WEB2 can be controlled via SNMP for automated operation. Setup the SNMP on the SNMP page in the web interface. The unit will respond to SNMP queries to gather da-ta and control relays from a script running on a remote computer. The unit doesn’t allow setting of local SNMP traps.

6. WIRE TYPE: When using the monitor in high current applications (>10A), it’s important to use a stranded wire with many fine strands and use the largest wire possible. Multi-strand wire will provide a low resistance electrical connection to the green connectors. If us-ing course strand wire such as THHN, there will be higher re-
