ToY’s STORies “Adventures for Toys”
“The life and love we create is the life and love we live.”
Leo Buscaglia
Toy’s Stories – “Adventures for Toys”
Our Vision
Promote
the meaning, purpose and
value of charity
amongst schools and children
through
TOY SHARING
Toy’s Stories – “Adventures for Toys”
Our Objectives
Encourage children to
– select one of their favourite toys, – name the toy, – tell a story about the toy, and – share the toy and its story with another child who is less fortunate than them.
Gain support from schools and
parents and have them get as much involved as possible, spending some quality time with their children, in this
exploration of a new meaning,
purpose and value of charity.
Considering that the concept of donation may imply someone superior giving away something no longer useful to them to someone inferior, this “Toy’s Stories” project aims to take children on a fun ride of sharing one of their favourite toys and its story and further on to the “Adventures for Toys”.
The toy will then begin
a series of adventures with
the receiving child, hence the theme
“Adventures for Toys”

Our Biggest Discoveries
What has worked ... ?
Time may always seem not enough. But you will always be able to find time for something you are
enthusiastic about. Time is definitely in our hands!
Vision without a task is only a dream.
A task without a vision is drudgery.
Vision with a task is but a dream fulfilled.
We had a Vision and we made it!
Official or unofficial doesn’t matter much.
“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more,
you are a leader.”
John Quincy Adams
Building a tribe is not
about you or me.
It’s about what
you believe and
how you reach out
and walk the talk.
More or less we all know our strengths and weaknesses. Yet it takes courage to step in and say,
“I will do it!” We, each of us, did it!
Stop making assumptions. I am me. You are you. Everyone out there has different needs and expectations. Walk up to them, ask and listen. You will be surprised at how things can be so simple.
We are human. We all want
to be connected one way or
another.

People How to identify the right “audience” (sharing & receiving) and balance their interests C

Faith How to lead oneself before leading others (“Believe it to see”)
What was done to address these challenges
BY has been the unofficial leader of the team – always there driving momentum. You see progress here, you then want to jump in & do your bit to drive progress there.
Each member takes ownership to do his/her tiny part whenever possible to contribute to a Vision.
With a Vision, you know the core of your existence; you know the purpose of TOY’s STORIES – to teach and encourage charity amongst schools & children.
Sticking to a Vision, you get a better grip on how to approach the right audience and balance the interests of all parties concerned.
To build trust, you need credibility. To build a tribe, you need people to believe what you believe and tag along to make change.
One step at a time. Don’t give up. You have a Vision. You jump in. You tackle issues one by one. And soon enough you will have overcome all barriers/obstacles.
Our Top 3 Challenges ...
People need to see to believe. You believe in yourself and your Vision and people will see and believe.

Transformational Leadership, Building a Tribe & Working as a Team
“We all have varying
agenda. It is how flexible,
accessible and caring we
can be as a team, balancing
the interests of all parties,
to build a remarkable tribe
and to achieve the goal we
have set.
“A strong sense of ownership.
A zeal for going the extra mile
to make a difference. A quest
into the power of love, sharing
and being who we can be.
That’s what transformational leadership has come to mean
to me.”
“You need to believe it yourself first before
others follow and believe what you believe.”
(Building a tribe)
communication materials, building
online support networks , etc.” (Working as a team)
“It is amazing to witness the distance of
team members in Toy’s Stories being
rapidly overcome through effective
delegation of tasks. Remote team
members can definitely make a strong
contribution through funding, preparing
“Different time zones, different life
challenges to face individually… Yet each
of us has done our own little bit with
such swiftness and effectiveness, adding
up to a Big whole, to make this project a
success. Support from my wife is also a
big boost to keep me going.” (Working as a team)
“I used to think that charity is all about donation. Through Toy’s Stories,
charity now means something more to me. It’s giving time to care and reaching out to support and share that mean more to those in need.” (Vision)
