    1) Disassembly. (EngineCompartment)

    Place the Vehicle in Park with a) the Parking Brake set.Disconnected the Negative b) Battery Terminal.

    Protect the Fender.

    Note the Battery Cable Position as it will be re-installed in the same position.

    CAUTION:Do not touch the Positive Terminal.

    ForBoltonEngineCoversRemove the Engine Cover.c)

    Remove 2 Nuts.

    ForCliponEngineCoversRemove the Engine Cover.d)

    Pull up on the Engine Cover eas- ing the Rubber Grommets off of the Metal Studs on the Engine.

    Dislodge the Relay block.e) Press in on the clip and slide it off its Bracket.

    2) HoodSwitchInstallation.Dislodge the Hood Lock a) Assembly.

    Remove 3 Bolts.

    Remove the Hood Lock b) Cable from the Hood Lock.Release the Spring from the c) Hood Lock.

    Cut the Harness Clamp from d) the Hood Switch Harness.

    Make sure to hold the Hood Switch by the its sides. If the Hood Switch is broken RES will not function.

    Install the e) Hood Switch with the Switch Lever underneath the Hood Lock Trigger Lever.

    Make sure the Hood Switch Lever is positioned properly. If the Hood Switch is Broken RES will not function.

    Route the Hood Switch f) Harness as shown.Reinstall the Spring.g)

    CAUTION: Make sure that the Spring seats properly.

    i) Connect the 2P Hood Switch Connector to the 2P Hood Switch Harness Connector.Place the 2P Connectors j) and Wire Harness Under the Radiator Reinforcement Brace.

    CAUTION: Wrap the Hood Latch in a small blanket before continuing with the Hood Switch Harness routing.

    k) Route and Secure the Hood Switch Harness as shown. (3 Wire Ties)

    When installing the Wire Ties be sure to rotate their Rachet End under the Radiator Reinforcement Brace as shown.

    Remove the Passengers b) Step Cover.

    Remove the Lower Dash. f)

    Release the Steering g) Columns Tilt and Telescope Lock.Dislodge the Center Clip.h)

    Insert fingers into the opening of the Tilt Lever of the Steering Col-umn Under Cover to disengage 1 Claw.

    CAUTION: Do not force this clip as it is very easy to break.

    Dislodge the Back Clips on i) both sides.Release the Front Clips on j) both sides.

    Insert the Key into the Ignition and turn it to ON.

    Turn the Steering wheel from Right to Left to access the Holes.

    Use a Flat Blade Jewelers Screwdriver wrapped with Electrical Tape to release the clips.

    Remove the Key from the Ignition.

    Remove 2 Nuts.

    Disconnect the Vehicle Harness Clip from the Brace.

    CAUTION: Sharp metal edges.

    Locate the Vehicle Harness a) Clamp below the Steering column on the Drivers Side. Secure the White Tape b) Marker to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie.Secure the V4 Harness and c) its Relay to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie.

    Remove 2 Screw from the IP q) Panel.Remove the IP Panel. r)

    Disconnect the Vehicle 14P f) Connector from the Drivers Side Junction Box.

    V4ONLYRoute the two 14P V4 d) Connectors toward the Drivers Side Junction Block.Secure the V4 Harness e) to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie.

    Disconnect the Vehicle 14P k) Connector from the V5 Connector.

    V4 /V5ADDONONLYCut the Wire Tie securing the i) V5 14P Connector.Cut the Wire Tie securing the j) V5 Harness to the Vehicle Harness.

    Plug the V4 14P Connectors g) in between the Vehicle Connector and the Junction Box. Secure the Connectors to h) the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie.

    Secure the V4 and V5 14P o) Connectors to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie.Secure the V4 and V5 p) Harnesses to the Vehicle Brace with 1 Wire Tie.

    Connect the Vehicle 14P n) Connector to the V4 14P Connector.

    Route the two V4 14P l) Connectors towards the Drivers Side Junction Box.Connect the V4 14P m) Connector to the V5 14P Connector.

    5) V4HarnessInstallation. (IPPanel)

    GO BACK to the White Tape Marker

    Route the Red Wire upward a) as shown.Secure the Red Wire and b) the Bundled up Black Wire to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie.

    Route the Red Wire and c) secure it with 1 Wire Tie.

    Route the Red Wire and d) secure it with 3 Wire Ties to the Vehicle Harness.Use a Splicing Connector to e) secure the V4 Red Wire to the Wire from Pin 1 on the 40P Vehicle Connector. Bundle up the excess TVIP f) wire and secure to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie.

    6) V4HarnessInstallation. (SteeringColumn)

    Disconnect the 8P IG a) Connector.Remove the Tape securing b) the 8P IG Connectors Wires and the Black 2P Connector Harness. Re-Tape the Black 2P c) Connector Wires.

    Do not secure the 8P IG Connectors Wires.

    Plug the V4 8P Connectors in d) between the Vehicles 8P IG Connectors.

    Secure the 8P Connectors e) to Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie.

    CAUTION:Make sure the Connectors and Harness align properly.

    Secure the V4 Harness to f) the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie.

    NOTE: Verify that the Steering Column Tilts and Telescopes without interference and there is no tension on the connectors.

    Route the V4 Harness g) through the Center Console.On the Drivers Side secure h) the V4 Harness to the Vehicle Brace with 1 Wire Tie. i)

    7) V4harnessInstallation (PassengersSide)

    Secure the V4 Harness a) to the Vehicle Braces with 3 Wire Tie.

    Route the V4 Harnesss 8P b) and 20P Connectors as shown.Secure the V4 Harness to the c) Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie as shown.

    8) HoodSwitchHarnessRouting.(Continued)

    Dislodge the Vehicle ECU.a) Remove 1 bolt.

    Dislodge the Grommet. b)

    Rotate the Grommet to gain c) access to the Large Rubber Nipple.

    Secure the Pin Terminals d) from the Hood Switch Harness to the Wire Routing Tool with Electrical Tape.

    Cut the Large Nipple.e)

    NOTE:Do not cut the Small Nipple.

    CAUTION: Do not damage the Pin Terminals.

    Pull the Hood Switch f) Harness through the Large Hole.Remove the Tape securing g) the Hood Switch Harness to the Wire Routing Tool

    Using 1/2 Piece of Butyl h) Tape fill the opening of the Grommet.Secure with Electrical Tape.i) Re-rotate the Grommet. j)

    Re-fit the Grommet into the k) Firewall.

    CAUTION: Makes sure that the Grommet seats into the Firewall.

    Secure the Hood Switch l) Harness to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie.

    9) RESECUandGatewayECUPreparation.

    Attach the RES Bracket to a) the RES ECU as shown.

    Attach the Gateway ECU b) Bracket to the Gateway ECU as shown.

    Connect the b) 8P Connector to the RES ECU.Connect the 20P Connector c) to the RES ECU.

    Route the V4 Harness d) securing it with 2 Wire Tie.

    11)HoodSwitchPin.Disconnect the Empty a) 2P Connector from the V4 Harness.Lift up the Terminal Retainer b) Clip.

    Do not Remove the Clip.

    Insert the Terminal on the c) WHITE/BLACK Wire of the Hood Switch Harness into the Connector.Insert the Terminal on the d) GREEN/RED Wire of the Hood Switch Harness into the Connector.

    VERIFY: Terminal Pins are properly inserted and do not come out.

    Close the Terminal Retainer e) Clip.

    Re-Connect the V4 2P f) Connectors.Wrap the 2P Connectors with g) 1/2 Piece of Foam Tape.

    Re-install the Vehicles ECU. h)

    Connector, marked with Sky Blue Tape, to the Vehicles Pre-wire.

    Secure both Connectors and b) the V4 Harness to the Vehicle Harness with 2 Wire Ties.

    Install the c) Gateway ECU.

    Connect the d) V4 5P Connector to the Gateway ECU.

    Route the V4 Harness down e) towards the Passengers Cowl Area.Secure the V4 Harness to f) the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie.

    Secure the V4 Harness to h) the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie.

    Locate and disconnect the i) 13P Connector from the Passengers Cowl Connector Block.

    Plug the V4j) 13P Connector in between the Connector Block and the Vehicle 13P Connector.

    Secure the 13P Connectors k) to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie.Secure the l) 1P Male RES Diagnostic Connector and the V4 Harness to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie.

    NOTE: Do not secure Female Connector or its wire.

    Locate the 1P RES c) Diagnostic Connectors in the Passengers Side Cowl Area and connect them.

    NOTE:Once connected you will have 10 minutes to complete this section, steps dx.

    If you are stuck at this step. Do the following:

    Make sure the Vehicles Check Engine Light is not on. If so youll have to fix this.

    Use the TVIP V4 EWD and Troubleshooting Guide to locate the Check Engine Signal.

    Make sure the signal is getting to the RES ECU.

    Check the Connector or Splicing Connector.

    Make sure the Vehicles Electrical System is OK.

    Open the Drivers Door.l) Using the Remote press the m) Lock Button twice within 2 Seconds.Press and hold the Lock n) Button for 4 Seconds.

    This step needs to be completed in 35 seconds.

    Look for the Immobilizer LED s) to turn on for 1 Second and go off.After 1 Second look for the t) Immobilizer LED to come back on and stay on.Remove the key from the u) Ignition. Look for the Immobilizer LED v) to turn off.

    Disconnect the V4 Harnesss 1P RES Diagnostic Connectors.

    For US Vehicles us the English Tags and Labels, and discard the Spanish Tags and Labels.

    For Mexico Vehicles us the Span- ish Tags and Labels, and discard the English Tags and Labels.

    Using VDC approved cleaner a) and cleaning method, clean the area indicated in the Engine Compartment.Attach the Engine Room b) Warning Label as shown.

    CAUTION: Do not touch the adhesive surface.

    Using VDC approved cleaner c) and cleaning method, clean the indicated area on the key.Use a piece of Clear Tape to d) lift the label off its protective backing.

    CAUTION: Do not touch the adhesive surface.

    Attach the Key Label as e) shown.

    Attach the Key Tag.f)

    REPEAT: steps c f with the other Key.

    Use Household Glass g) Cleaner to clean the inside of the Front Door Windows.Use a piece of Clear Tape h) to lift the Label from the protective backing.

    VERIFY: that panels fit together properly, with no uneven gaps.

    VERIFY: that all Connectors are plugged in.

    Position the Negative Battery b) Cable at the original factory position.

    Tighten the Nut to 36 inlbf (4.07 Nm)

    CAUTION: Do not touch the positive terminal.

    Clean up and Remove trash.c) Sealed in its protective bag, d) place the Owners Manual in the Glovebox.

    Reset the power windows.e) Turn the ignition ON.

    Lower the Windows halfway.

    Pull up on the Power Window Switches until the windows close.

    Continue to hold up on the switches for a minimum of 1 Second.

    Reset the Moon Roof.f) Turn the ignition ON.

    Open the Moon Roof halfway.

    Push and hold the Moon Roof Switch to close until the Moon Roof closes.

    Continue to hold the switch for a minimum of 1 Second.

    Close the hood, place the shift lever in the P (parking) position, set the parking brake, remove the key from the igni-tion, close all doors, and exit the vehicle.

    1 Press the remote controls lock button twice within 2 seconds, then press and hold the lock button 3 seconds.

    The hazard lights flash after 3 seconds. The engine starts. The hazard lights flash repeatedly for 20 seconds.

    2 Press the remote controls unlock button. The engine stops. The hazard lights flash twice.

    3 Start the Vehicle again using the remote. With the engine running, press and hold the remote controls lock button 2 seconds.

    Refer to Step 1. The engine stops. The hazard lights flash once.

    4 Start the Vehicle again using the remote. Unlock the doors with the key.

    Refer to Step 1. The engine stops. The hazard lights flash once.

    Enter the vehicle and close all doors.

    5 Start the Vehicle again using the remote. With the engine running, manually unlock any door with the inside lock switch.

    6 Start the Vehicle again using the remote. With the engine running, push down on the accelera-tor until the engine speed exceeds 3000 RPMs.
