Toyo Engineering India Private Limited Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Activities during 2015-16 As we know, there is a large percentage of dropout of girl students from schools in rural and backward areas and one of the main reason for the same is the total absence or inadequacy of Toilets and Hygiene facilities for girl students in schools. One of the purpose of “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” (Save Girls, Educate Girls) scheme of the Central Government is to make girls independent, socially and financially, by offering them opportunities for higher education. As a part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity, during the year 2015-16, toilet blocks for girl students were constructed with our financial support in the following three schools in villages in backward areas in Wada Taluka of Thane District: 1. Vidya Mandir, Gorhe 2. A.L. Chandawarkar High School, Khaniwali 3. Sharda Vidya Mandir, Nehroli The Thane Rotary Charity Trust took the responsibility of execution and monitoring the progress of the Project under its “Sukhada-Wins” project. This Project is also a step towards the “Swachh Bharat” (Clean India) mission of the Central Government. The construction of toilet blocks has been completed in all the three schools and the toilet blocks were handed over to the respective schools on 23 February 2016 at the hands of Mr. R.Y. Kulkarni, Executive Director & CFO. The Head Masters and the staff at the aforesaid schools expressed their sincere thanks for this CSR assistance by Toyo India. Mr. I. Yanagi, Managing Director was invited as the Chief Guest for the Anniversary function of the Rotary Club, Thane on 23 February 2016 evening. During his speech, he thanked the Thane Rotary Charity Trust for their efforts in completing the project well before the scheduled date. The Rotary Club appreciated Toyo India’s financial support to “Sukhada-Wins” project and handed over the certificate of appreciation to Toyo India. Toyo India will continue its CSR efforts with emphasis on the well-being of the less privileged in the society. ***
