Where he struggled in literacy last year, he now loves to work on literacyeverywhere we go. My son has just blossomed and he has improved in math and reading from last year. His teacher is involved with me. Its been a great experience. I love his teacher-Mrs. Ryan. The teacher of my daughter is always pushing her to do her best and over excel in the classes where she is at grade level, pushes aboveTeacher Mrs. Hoak. Really surprised that he started in kinder and already started reading and the caring nature of our teachers. Kinder daughter from California-new experience, a lot of difference. I see the progress in reading and math has taken two awards already. Shes very excited about learning. Her teacher Mrs. Lee is amazing. Kinder and Second grader-Im a fourth grade teacher at another district. I wanted my daughter to be challenged and thats what Mrs. Fullerton and Mrs. Harris does for my children. They are learning different strategies to figure out their problems. Family circle time Uplift Lee Town Hall Opportunities for Growth/Questions What happens after second grade? We will continue to add a grade every year until we fulfill the K-5. In discussions about what Middle school and high school will look like. My concern is with communication from one staff member to another staff member and from Uplift Lee staff to regular Lee staff member. May not always know what the other school is doing. Ball dropped from my teacher to attendance clerk. Will you be adding another language besides Spanish? Right now focus is on Spanish. It is what is used across other Uplift schools. What grade levels participate in Spanish? All K-2 participate in Spanish, either once or twice per week depending on their schedule. As you get bigger will you stay in this building? Yes, we will stay in this building K-5. Theres a PTA for lee in general, can we have it for Uplift Lee? We are working on combining both schools PTA. PTA President is an Uplift Lee parent, next meeting is next Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the caf. Layla Robles can get you additional information. Before school started If you started on first day you got an Uplift lee shirt. Car line-Can we improve carline? What time does school open? 7:30 a.m. Can parents help volunteer in morning car line or afternoon? Emergency procedures-We found out through grand prairie reporter on facebook. GPISD quickly brought buses to get them out of the rain. Main focus was on safety, as soon as we were able to we sent out communication.
