Michigan Ontario Muskie ClubSpecial Olympics Charity Derby
20th Annual Michigan Ontario Muskie Club Charity Derby
Well, it’s that time of the year and we are preparing for the 20th Annual Special Olympics Derby out of Grosse Pointe Yacht Club. Last year you participated in this Great event and I’m sending you this letter to see if you are still aboard for this year.
The 20th Annual Michigan Ontario Muskie Club Charity Derby, which will benefit the Harper Woods-Grosse Pointe Chapters of the Michigan Special Olympics, will be held on Wednesday June 24, 2015 at the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club. This event is a joint effort of the Michigan Ontario Muskie Club, Grosse Pointe Yacht Club, Detroit Yacht Club and the Detroit Athletic Club.
We will have all the great raffles as prior years along with the ever popular Golden Rod Call-in and the Call-in for Detroit Tiger Tickets. After fishing we will have the Awards presentation along with the buffet dinner. If you know someone that wants to attend the dinner only; tickets are $55 a person for a reservation.
Tuesday night we will have a Captains Bar-B-Q sponsored by a local business & Dragon Mead Beer for the Captains that bring their boat Tuesday night. Please RSVP if you plan to attend. We need to give Alex Turner (GPYC Harbor Master) a heads up on who to expect. We also need a head count for the Captain’s dinner.
We have more sponsors available than we have Captains and boats. So if you know a Captain that would like to participate that has not participated in the past, please have them contact me.
The cost is as follows: Bring your own boat and equipment, 6 people, $700.00 per boat Sponsor a boat with Captain, mate, equipment, 4 guests, for $800.00 per boat (Additional anglers - $125.00 per adult, 18 & under $60.00, 12 and under free) Dinner only - $55.00 per person Please RSVP and send in the enclosed entry form before May 27th.
Thanks,
Eric Woodhouse and Ed Pascua
For additional information please visit us on the web at www.lscmomc.com or contact us at the following: Eric Woodhouse 586-945-0390 or Ed Pascua 734-709-2766

Michigan Ontario Muskie ClubTrue Trophy Release Program
In 1994, the MOMC Board of Directors, in an effort to provide more information to MOMC members, instituted the "True Trophy Release Program." This program tabulates information on muskies entered, to help determine the number of muskies released by MOMC members. All MOMC members are encouraged to participate, with honest, accurate information.
Rules for this program are simple. a) Any muskie over 28 pounds, successfully released, may be submitted. b) MOMC members must submit entry within 15 days of the release.
Entry forms may be copied from the directory or use a page with the necessary info clearly written. MOMC recognition will be given in the yearbook.
The first year of the program brought in some sixty muskies of "True Trophy" size, among 30 MOMC members which contributed to the program. The muskie entered here are a good reflection of the number of serious MOMC members who practice Catch and Release.
This year, we would like to invite you to share your "fish tales" on the new MOMC facebook page. Just go to facebook and type in, "Michigan Ontario Muskie CLUB" and tell us about your great day. Thanks to all the members who participated this past year. Your contribution towards this directory is greatly appreciated by the MOMC Board of Directors and the anglers which learn from your accounts.
Note: You may have noticed some of the TTR fish registered, were larger than some of the Monthly Derby muskies registered. Many of our members fish for first place only. The important thing to remember, is the TTR Program is intended for informational purposes only, so the information will be published in chronological order. Not weight, length, girth, etc.
Good Luck to all MOMC Muskie Fishermen!
