3 Country Marathon Race Day = Full Marathon, Half Marathon, Quarter Marathon, Relay and an 11k walk.
We are thrilled to offer this very unique tour featuring 4 European countries in 1 great trip with a wide variety of
included extras and escorted by Garth & Helena Millar of Fundy Sports & Tourism. Germany, Austria and Switzerland
are all featured in the marathon and we will make a side trip to Liechtenstein for a walking tour of Vaduz the capital.
Also included are wonderful highlights including overnight stays in Zurich, Innsbruck and Munich giving us a real
European flair to our trip.

Wednesday 02 October
Upon arrival in Zurich we will transfer to our hotel and will join a local guide for a walking tour of Zurich to help us adjust
to local Swiss time, featuring the historic city centre and the lake side of the city. Dinner at leisure this evening.
The city of Zurich, a global center for banking and finance, lies at the north end of Lake Zurich in northern Switzerland.
The picturesque lanes of the central Altstadt (Old Town), on either side of the Limmat River, reflect its pre-medieval
history.
Thursday 03 October
American style breakfast in hotel followed by full day at leisure in Zurich. Dinner at leisure this evening.

region, continue to the renowned Grindelwald resort, where you will board a thrilling cogwheel train. This sturdy ride
will trundle you up to the top of the Kleine Sheidegg. Contemplate the breath-taking north face of the Eiger, seemingly
at arm’s reach.
Relish the sensational alpine environment during your stay at Kleine Sheidegg. This is the starting point of many stunning
hikes, such as the Jungfrau Eiger Walk, which has magnificent views of the rock and ice masses that slowly move along

After a leisurely breakfast we will depart Zurich, Switzerland for our 2 hour drive to Austria and our base for the next 4
nights in Bregenz & remainder of day at leisure to explore.

Bregenz is an Austrian city at the eastern end of Lake Constance (Bodensee). It is the capital of the state of Vorarlberg.
The region offers a variety of outdoor sports including cycling, mountain biking, walking, trekking, tennis, paragliding and
all kinds of water sports.
Saturday 05 October
American style breakfast in hotel followed by walk to the pier to take the ferry (included in tour) to Lindau for packet
pick-up between 9am-7pm at the „Inselhalle“ in LindauDay. Remainder of day at leisure.
Sunday 06 October

Race Day - All runners start at 10.30 am in Lindau(GER) harbour – final timings to be confirmed.
The marathon starts from the beautiful Island of Lindau harbour, then passes through the Austrian towns Lochau, Bregenz, Hard, Höchst, it then crosses the Swiss border at St. Margreten and continues across the Rheindamm back to Hard and finally finishes in Bregenz.
A marathon to enjoy 60% of the course takes place along Lake Constance. You pass the world’s largest open theatre, with the stage design of the opera Turandot. Then passing through reeds and woods, you finally finish in the Casino-Stadium in Bregenz, where a cheering crowd awaits you.

Monday 07 October

After breakfast we will walk from our hotel to the town pier for a cruise to Friedrichshafen followed by a short walk to
the Zeppelin museum with entrance included.
Tuesday 08 October
American style breakfast in hotel.
Depart our hotel this morning for a 1 hour drive to Vaduz, the capital of Liechtenstein where we will join a local guide for
a walking tour of the city before transferring back to our hotel in Bregenz.

Wednesday 09 October

Depart our hotel this morning for a 2 hour drive to Neuschwanstein Castle with entrance included.
Seven weeks after the death of King Ludwig II in 1886, Neuschwanstein was opened to the public. The shy king had built the castle in order to withdraw from public life – now vast numbers of people came to view his private refuge.
Today Neuschwanstein is one of the most popular of all the palaces and castles in Europe. Every year 1.4 million people visit "the castle of the fairy-tale king". In the summer around 6,000 visitors a day stream through rooms that were intended for a single inhabitant. The setting of Neuschwanstein could not be more idyllic.
On conclusion of our castle visit we will depart for Austria and an overnight stay in Innsbruck with an afternoon walking
tour included for everyone.

Thursday 10 October

After breakfast we depart for a 2.30hr drive to Munich where on arrival we will enjoy a city tour with a local guide which
will include the Olympic Stadium and entrance to the TV tower.
Munich, Bavaria’s capital, is home to centuries-old buildings and numerous museums. The city is known for its annual
Oktoberfest celebration and its beer halls, including the famed Hofbräuhaus, founded in 1589. In the Altstadt (Old
Town), central Marienplatz square contains landmarks such as Neo-Gothic Neues Rathaus (town hall), with a popular
glockenspiel show that chimes and reenacts stories from the 16th century.
Friday 11 October

Our final free day in Munich is completely for last minute sightseeing or shopping

Take a day to explore the impressive natural bounty along the German Alpine Road, coupled with a bit of history, as you
take in a few sites used by the Third Reich at the height of World War II. Offering a bit of past and present, you're sure to
have a day to remember. After a scenic drive along the German Alpine Road, through vibrant green valleys amidst the
remarkable peaks of the Alps, you'll make your way to Berchtesgaden. A classical village high in the Alps, gaze at the
beautiful dark pines set against a blue sky, before heading up onto the Obersalzberg mountain. Take in the stunning
views of the rich landscapes set before you, and appreciate the fact that this beauty was also the scenic backdrop to a
darker time in history. Still with many remnants of years spent as one of Hitler's mountain retreats, the site contains a
labyrinth of bunkers prepared by the Nazi's for protection during their reign. Take a visit to the NS Documentation
Centre, which provides visitors with historic information…

Tax – some European cities have a tourism tax which if applicable must be paid directly to the hotel in the respective
city.
Gratuities are not included for driver or local guides.
Pricing – prices are based on a minimum of 25 paying passengers. If we do not reach our minimum numbers by 31 Jan
2019 we refund your deposit in full.
Race Registration is not included, however, we will contact the Race Director for a group discount.
Prices are based on hotel mentioned on the itinerary or similar subject to availability at the time of reservation.
Should the tour coincide with a trade fair or any other special event we reserve the right to accommodate the group in an alternate hotel and advise a supplement if applicable.
Should there be any change in Government taxes we reserve the right to pass on any increases to you.
Should currencies fluctuate by more than 3% Operation Europe shall forward revised prices.
