Featuring a simple design with fewer components, the torsionally set PowerScrew™ liner

hanger offers outstanding ease of operation combined with a high degree of reliability

and functionality. This advanced hanger system, employing a patented stretch-forming

technique, provides a superior connection between casing liners and intermediate casing

strings. The PowerScrew’s liner top combines profiled packer elements and hardened slip

wickers, for reliable hanging and sealing performance. In addition, this advanced system’s

running tool delivers superior tensile, compressive, and torsional strength, providing for

successful deployment and target placement of the liner every time.

THE LINER HANGER DESIGNED FORTODAY’S WELL COMPLETIONS

Many advanced liner hangers today require high hydraulic pressure for setting. By

comparison, the PowerScrew utilizes the energy from the top drive to set the tool safely

and efficiently, eliminating the need for high setting pressure. Top drive rotation provides

the energy to helically stretch-form the liner top, allowing the entire hanger body to form

against the casing wall. This process provides for improved pressure containment, higher

hanging capacity, and an overall higher standard of reliability and safety.

UNIQUE TORSIONALLY SET LINER HANGER

The PowerScrew was designed to address the most pressing issues in well completions today based on its operational efficiency, ease of running, and

reliable setting process. The ease of operation is provided without sacrificing pressure containment, or hanging capacity.

Key Features:

• Unique metal-formed design using helical insets for additional strength

• Simple and reliable mechanical setting process

• Integral hardened slip wickers combined with advanced, profiled Viton® packing elements

• Setting tool employing planetary roller screw (high performance component adopted from the aerospace industry)

• Proven downhole diamond bearings used during the setting process

• Multi-lead rifling mandrel used in the setting tool, for greater collapse resistance

• Polished Bore Receptacle located below liner top provides easy tie-backs

• TMK FJ premium connection used as an interface between the PBR and the liner top

DESIGNED FOR EASE OF OPERATION AND RELIABILITY

POWERSCREW™ TORSIONALLY SET LINER HANGERThe advanced PowerScrew liner hanger incorporates a number of key

design features, providing for ease of running and setting combined with

outstanding pressure integrity and hanging capacity.

Burst disks allow for (reverse) circulation

MLR super-finished mandrel provides low-friction helical

stretch of liner top into parent casing

The process of deploying and setting the PowerScrew Liner System is simple and straightforward. Using torsional energy

from the top drive in the setting process, the PowerScrew does not require high pressure for setting that is needed by many

conventional hanger systems.

• Use of a Spade Nose Casing Shoe and Rotating Cement Head are preferred.

• The Float Shoe must be made up below the Latch-Lock Landing Collar.

• Make up the last liner connection to the bottom of the Powerscrew™.

• Make up the top Powerscrew connection (drill pipe) and run in the hole on drill pipe to setting depth. The liner is locked to the drill pipe through the Powerscrew and can be put in tension, compression, and torqued at will, being respectful of the equipment’s mechanical limits.

• Tag bottom with the Casing Shoe, pick-up to setting depth.

• With the Cement Manifold in place, pump cement from the rig floor.

• After the cement is pumped, switch over to the displacement fluid and pump the drill pipe dart between the two fluids.

• The dart will launch the Latch-Lock cement plug positioned below the setting tool. The liner can be set to release just prior to plug launch. (No ball drop required)

• Continue pumping displacement fluid and bump the plug into the Landing Collar.

• If utilized, pump or drop the steel setting ball and allow time to seat.

• Prepare for the metal forming process by putting the work string into compression. If a ball was pumped or dropped, the release mechanism must be pressurized to initiate liner release. (Ball drop complies with BSEE Regs)

• Apply torque to the work string.

• With the liner released, torsional energy from the work string is transmitted to the liner top through a unique Multi-Lead Rifled Mandrel. This helically stretched liner top embeds hardened slip wickers with profiled packer elements directly into the intermediate casing.

• With a sudden drop in torque, the liner top is fully integrated into the intermediate casing. Pick-up to ensure loss of liner weight

• With a ball drop, the setting tool’s burst disks must be pressurized to allow circulation.

• With circulation reestablished, pressure test the liner system.

• The Powerscrew setting tool can now be pulled out of the hole.
