Toronto Bruce Trail Club Bus Hike
McCrae Lake Wilderness Reserve
Saturday October 3, 2015
Bus departs York Mills at 7.00 a.m. and returns by 8.00 p.m.
The McCrae Lake Wilderness Reserve is exceptional, it houses no commercial
development and remains unspoiled in its natural state. The landscape is
characterised by bedrock knolls scattered with small wetlands and beaver
ponds. The Conservation Trail is located just off Hwy 400 at Crooked Bay and
extends north along the Georgian Bay coastline, it winds its way to viewpoints
on top of granite cliffs overlooking the untarnished waters of McCrae Lake.
If you are a strong, experienced hiker and enjoy a challenge, at the same time
appreciate the splendour of changing fall colours, come join our 22 km
advanced hike and see what makes McCrae Lake so special. Members and
non-members are welcome. The terrain is rugged and there are no dropouts.
Meeting Place is York Mills subway station on Old York Mills Road near
the south exit of the station. Parking is available in the TTC lot at Yonge
Street and Wilson Avenue. Bus departs at 7.00 a.m.
