The former Tobacco Manufacturing Plant represents a historic structure of extraordinary interest, destined in the City’s plans to university functions.Located along the river Po, surrounded by the Colletta and Arrivore parks, it borders on the transformation areas of Variante 200 – in particular the Vanchiglia/Regio Parco Yard – and the route of the future Metro Line 2.The historical and environmental context, the nearness to the new public transport routes but also to the new humanistic site along the Dora, makes the Tobacco Manufacturing Building a site of particular interest.

The City of Health should arise from the redesigning of the main hospital site of the Turin area, the Molinette, to then extend and spread out to the surrounding urban fabric, within the south quadrant of the city.
The environmental picture represented by the Po and the river landscape, the presence of Metro Line 1 and the nearness to the Lingotto railway station and motorway access roads make this area particularly interesting for development.

Vertice Nord is characterized by a high accessibility and infrastructure as well as for greater extension and building capacity expected. It represents the new northern gate to Torino, as the junction point between intercity motorway system and urban road system. This area will have the role of new retail center on the northern portion of the city, with more traditional oɝ ce and residential functions. The localization of leisure activities depends to the principle of specifi city enhancement and maximization of existing resources not only in order of the high degree of accessibility.

PROJECT INFO
The transformation area called Scalo Vallino (Vallino Rail Yard) is located near the City center, along the Torino-Genova railway line. In the past such area has been used as a goods yard by Porta Nuova railway station; in recent decades it is used as storage for goods thanks to the existing warehouses. Four buildings of historical/environmental value are located on via Nizza side. It is planned to refurbish the entire area providing it through residential, commercial and service activities, including the ones for the future Biotechnology Research Hub.

The area is part of the wider Corso Romania premises. It boasts high accessibility: it is situated at the junction of the A5 Torino-Aosta and A4 Torino- Milano motorways where they join the north ring road. The activation of the Metropolitan railway service makes Stura station an important interchange point in public mobility, supported by the extra-urban bus terminal, and gives the areas under transformation a new accessibility within the metropolitan area.
