and how to engage with your audience

MYTH #1: all of my Facebook fans see all of my posts
FALSE!
Facebook is limiting the organic reach of brand posts in the Newsfeed, which forces marketers to pay to promote their content if they want to boost reach & engagement.
Solution: With strategic ad targeting and placement, you can reach your audience and your most engaged audience. Remember, Facebook fans are a community, and it takes constant nurturing to keep them engaged with your brand/page.

MYTH #2: SEO is dead
SEO is not dead. In fact, Google will serve your website at the top of search engine results pages (SERPs) if the content is recent, relevant, and provides a solution to the searcher.
Solution: With a strategic ongoing content strategy, you can help make your website an authority on the topic and force Google to constantly re-index the website. This helps keep your website top of mind (in Google’s eyes) – helping to rank in SERPs for relevant keywords and phases.
The websites that rank highest are those that own the conversation.
Forums
Blogs
Social Media
Product Review Sites
eCommerce Platforms
The Content Generators: Consumer Reports, How Stuff Works, Good Housekeeping
The Brands: The ones with authority content, and the strongest voice in the conversation.

MYTH #3: images are better than words
Although images are great for engaging your social audience, they aren’t as beneficial for your website. Search engines (like Google) don’t know how to “crawl” images and properly “read” them.
Solution: Proper, optimized ALT tags help search engines evaluate the images and determine appropriate search results and rankings. In addition to proper meta content and ALT tags, each and every page of your website should have 300-500 words to showcase your authority and relevance on the topic.

When it comes to post types on Facebook, images definitely take the gold medal and have the highest engagement rates.
From a search perspective, images are only as good as the supporting text and how they’re tagged.
