Lack of Motivation

If students are bored andnot interested in school,little learning will take

place especially for at-riskstudents. Lessons need to be

engaging and interactive tokeep students interested.

Poor Basic Arithmetic Skills

If students lack a foundation in math, they willbecome more frustrated as the conceptsbecome more complex.

Struggling math students need to receive one-on-one tutoring immediately before it's toolate!

Poor Study Skills

Students need to be taught effective ways to study. Students need to see the value in studying.

Lack of Self-Esteem

Once a student believesthey are "bad" at asubject, they will always

be bad at that subjectuntil someone breaks thecycle.

Students need to discoverinner pride for theiraccomplishments.

Lack of Extra Help

If students do not havethe help necessary fortheir learning they wouldbe behind and that causethat they fail .

It is essential that eachteacher individuallyspends time to each

students. By creatingtutors hours.

Low Income Problems

Most of the time students failschool because they do not havethe money for buy the necessarymaterials for their classes.

It is important that schools helpthose students with low incomewith their basic materials fortheir learning. That would permitstudents continue with theireducation.

Negative Friendships

Sometimes students fail school because they are having negativerelationships at school. At school one kid can change the mind of coupleof kids, by telling them that school is not important and that it is mostfun spend time around.

In this case teachers and parents need to be aware of every studentscharacter change. If they see a change they need to work together tosee what is the problem.

Lack of Lesson Differentiation

* All students are different and learn in different ways.Lessons need to be taught to meet the needs of all studentsin order to help all students succeed.

Poor Reading Comprehension

* Students who have poor reading skills tend to do poorly inschool* these students become reluntant to read causing reading

comprhension to drop further

Lack of Parental Involvment

* Students need parents to show interest in what they arelearning to help he or she see the value in learning. *Students need a stable home and parents or guardians whoare involved and make sure attendance is steady.* Parents can help by checking their child's homework,asking what he or she has learned each day, and providemeaningful praise and support.
