Egypt High Speed Rail Project

Project Owners: Ministry of Transportation Value: US$2.5 bln Key Project Points: The scope of work includes the construction of one rail line between Alexandria and Aswan and another between Hurghada and Luxor, with an initial estimated cost of $2.5bn.The aims of the Alexandria-Aswan rail line are to link the north Delta with the Nile Valley with high-speed trains that travel up to 350km/h. The line will be constructed on an elevated path on a bridge and will be completely isolated from both side to ensure the highest levels of safety and security. Five stations will be constructed for the line in Alexandria, Giza, Assiut, Luxor, and Aswan.Project status: Feasibility study to be concluded in March 2015

The project will run from Heliopolis district toward Cairo International Airport and will have a total length of 15.8 km. It will include 10 stations; namely Haroun, Heliopolis square, Alf Maskan, Shams Club, Nozha 1, Nozha 2, Qiba, Omar Ibn Al Khattab, El-Salam, 10th of Ramadan Station, and Airport.nci Construction, France.Project status: Design StageConstruction Completion: Q4 2017

Greater Cairo Metro - Line 4 - Phase 4

Project Owners: National Authority for Tunnels Value: US$500 mln Key Project Points: Project is part of Greater Cairo Metro - Line 4.Line 4 is 24 km long and includes 3 other phases. Phase 1 will run from El Malek El Saleh Station to the borders of 6th of October. Phase 2 will run from El Malek El Saleh Station passing through Magra El Oyoun Street and Salah El-Din Citadel in Salah Salem Street and will end at the 6th District Station. Phase 3 will run from the 6th District Station to Makram Ebeid Station running through Mustafa El Nahas Street.Project status: Design StageConstruction Start: Q4 2015Construction Completion: Q2 2017

Cairo High Speed Train Project

Project Owners: Ministry of Transportation Value: US$1.2 bln Key Project Points: The high-speed train project aims to connect 10th of Ramadan city with the proposed government capital and extends from the 10th of Ramadan station to the Ring Road station, Shorouk, Obour, and then Adly Mansour station, then linking with the fourth phase of the third metro line. The second phase will extend from the Ring Road station to the proposed administrative capital to Badr City and Madinaty, Sherouk, and Rehab. The third phase extends from 10th of Ramadan to Ezbet Selim and Belbeis, then linking with Rehab and Adly Mansour stations. The project will be constructed across three phases will include 16 stations.Construction Start: Q2 2015
