The only difference in songs were the way they were played whether it was to rock song lovers or hippies that all they wanted was piece. A quest to finding enlightenment. On his journey he comes to meet visionaries, drug dealers, and other types of people on his way. He travels from New York the lime life to California the sun goers and happy go lucky people.Written in a youthful pretentious style, Weissman captures what its like to be young and idealistic. The youthful style works in its favor, since it draws in the reader. At the edge of the Platonic huddle now, a joint was thrust in my direction, brusquely welcoming me to the order of the stoned disciples of the weed. President Lyndon B. Johnson served office (November 22, 1963 January 20, 1969) as the 36th president.During Lyndons term he stood in the middle of the Vietnam War. During this time he was also facing the weight of the amount of money it was costing to be able to keep the war going.Some of the social issues of the time were some of the people thinking war was unnecessary.During the time of the Vietnam war the American troops were at odds with their President.
