Dedicated Folder
• Follow the instructions:
1. Create a new folder in local disk D
2. Type folder name: My Literatures
3. Choose 5 new articles (PDF file), and move into new folder ‘My Literature’
4. Open Mendeley Desktop
Importing Documents
• Follow the instructions:
1. Open Mendeley Desktop
2. Click icon ‘Add Files’
• Additional*:
1. Create folder based on theme, e.g. Systematic Review; PA in children, sedentary behaviour…

Viewing Document
• Explore the following functions:
1. Sort article - * ; Authors; Title; Year; Added…
2. Locate file
3. Full screen
4. Select text
5. Highlight text
6. Add note
7. Define
8. Copy text
Organize File
• Follow the instructions:
1. Open Mendeley Desktop
2. Click ‘Tools’
3. Then ‘Options’
4. Go to ‘File Organizer’

• Insert 2 new articles into Mendeley Desktop
• Sort articles according to ‘Added’
Cite as you write
• Enable MS Word plugin
1. Go to Mendeley Desktop
2. Click ‘Tools’
3. Then click ‘Install MS Word Plugin’
4. Open MS word
5. Go to ‘References’ and identify Mendeley icon
• Choose citation style
1. Click ‘View’
2. Then click ‘Citation Style’ – APA 6thed.
