Other tools such as secateurs that are cleaned can be wiped with a moistened rag. Drying This is done after washing with the use of a rag or leaving exposed to sunlight. Drying removes water which cause increase the chances of rusting. Sharpeni ng After wear and tear tools become dull. Tools such as hoes, cutlasses, knives and other blades can be sharpened using a file or grindstone. Repairin g Tools may need to be welded such as shovels, spades, forks and rake Others such as hoes may need a replacement handle. Metal watering can may need soldering of the rose. Painting A coat of oil paint acts as a protective barrier from sun and water. Greasing A film of oil or grease placed on blades prevents rusting. This can be applied by spraying or with an oil moistened rag. Storing Tools should be safely stored on a tool rack, in drawers, cupboards or shelves.
