    Where then did the constituency acquire its councillors. Seeminglythey happened by them. Our branch chairman was one. At thattime two district councillors also sat as county councillors whicheectively blocked the path or others. I see that thirty our yearslater, one o this pair still sits as a councillor. Te mother o a riendbecame a district councillor on the basis she said that no one elsewas willing to stand. In an adjoined ward a new councillor wasreturned unopposed. His rst input was to ask his branch secretary ia district councillor had to do anything!28
