3. A gift to be received.

THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Not something we bring in on our power or by our timing… it is a gift of

God’s grace

It is not a burden God puts on us. It is a gift. Good news of the kingdom.

Luke 12:32 "Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.

Mark 10:13-15 People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. 14When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."

Hebrews 12:28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe. [the Greek verb tense (Present active participle]

• Repentance and baptism are not two things to do to check off. Not two hoops to jump through.

• ENTERING A WHOLE NEW WORLD…NEW WAY OF BEING YOU…

John 18:36 Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this

world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place."
