This photo is of the Rugby league, when Johnny Wilkinson won the cup. There is a quite broad depth of focus as most of the photo is in focus, however there is only a section at the top that is not in focus. There is no direct address as no one is looking directly at the camera. However, from seeing all of the crowds eye line, the eyes are automatically drawn to the player. The photo captures a moment, as if the photo was taken any later, then it wouldn’t have the same effect. There is a lot of lighting in the photo as there are hardly any shadows, no there is light coming from most angles, probably from flood lights.

This photo is of a game between Liverpool FC and Manchester United FC.The photo is a very successful photo as it captures the moment so well, yet so many elements of it are down to chance. The high amount of lighting makes all elements of the photograph seem well illuminated, however is all artificial light. There is also ambient lighting. There is a narrow depth of field as the player in the background is not in as much focus as the player in the fore ground, as well as the net not being in focus. This gives the effect of highlighting the players.

This photo is of Oscar Pistorius advertising the Olympics. There is a broad depth of field, as a lot of the photo is in focus to emphasise the background as well as Oscar in the foreground. The background being in focus is important as what is in the background is key to the photograph. The shot itself is a low angle shot, which makes the athlete look powerful, which combined with the serious facial expression, makes him seem focused and driven. The athlete stands out from the background as he is wearing a dark blue outfit which contrasts with the bright blue background. He is also wearing labelled sportswear which makes the connection of the athlete, stadium and BT.

I like this photo as it has a sense of mystery within it. However as an overall photo it leaves a lot of thought to the audience, which in turn makes it a clever photo. There is no other photo like it, which makes this so unique and special. The photo has a broad depth of field, as the whole photo is in focus. There is no direct address

This photo is of a football match which England took part in. This photo has a small depth of field, as only the footballer is in focus, and everything around him is out of focus. There is no direct address, but the use of the eyes being nearly exactly in the middle of the photo makes the attention of the viewer be drawn to him immediately. There is lots of lighting in the photo with little shadows which shows that it is artificial light, which could be due to the flood lights that are frequently there in football matches. The photo is a medium shot, and quite a close up which gives a large indication to both the facial expressions and the context (football kit so at a football match.)
