After discussing with my seniors and mentors in Kagool, we sadly agreed that my current position could no longer offer me the platform to progress to a level I was seeking. I enjoyed my time at Kagool and I am very appreciative of the opportunities they have given me. However, I left seeking a company that is always looking to progress and improve, constantly learning from each member of the team.

Contract/Freelance Web Developer Dec 2013 - Oct 2014 I worked as a freelance web developer for a number of varied clients. This included companies such as estate agents, local restaurants and creative agencies. With this varied workload, I encountered a number of challenges; the need to switch between languages, a good mentality for overcoming difficulties and a level of sales and finance management. This role also required a great deal of self-management, setting and meeting client expectations and adapting to different work environments.

KMS Components - Front End Developer Feb 2013 - Dec 2013 While working at Sotic, I was recruited and offered a great opportunity to work for KMS. I was responsible for overseeing all front-end web development, working directly with the graphic designers, marketing, sales and video production teams, along with the company directors. I ensured all websites functioned as expected and provided good user experience while achieving all their individual objectives and requirements.

Although the position was incredibly exciting, fulfilling and provided a lot of responsibility, KMS was sadly declared bankrupt. This provided me with the motivation to take on new challenges and become a freelance developer.

Sotic - Web Developer Oct 2012 - Feb 2013 At Sotic, I worked as a web developer. My responsibilities involved working within a team to build RedDot (CMS) websites for a number of sports clubs and stadiums. My role primarily focused on building the HTML components to meet the specifications and requirements of the design team.

Personal Achievements University Course Representative Within my second year of University, I was appointed course representative by my fellow coursemates. This role helped me to refine my communication skills. I expressed student concerns to faculty members and as a result they were able to make changes to the course content and structure to improve the delivery and uptake. In addition, I provided support to students by helping them through challenging times.

Ice Hockey During my Ice Hockey career, I was able to achieve some of the highest standards in UK ice hockey. I competed internationally in the European Championships for Team England and played for the Cardiff Devils within the ENL and Elite League teams.

Roller Hockey I was selected to play for the Welsh national team and capped for two seasons. Within my 2nd year, I was very proud to be elected as Team Captain.

Sabbatical In 2015, my employer allowed me to take a sabbatical, which taught me a lot of life lessons. My girlfriend and I spent 5 months in the French alps skiing and on return we purchased an old luton van, converting it into an off the grid flat on wheels. We then spent the next few months travelling Europe, having some of the best times of our lives!
