Eric & Sarah Lantrip Eric was saved as a child. He attended Baptist Bible College in Missouri

and received a Bachelor’s degree in Missions and Bible in May 2000. He

attended Louisiana Baptist and received a Master’s degree in Christian

Counseling in May 2010. Sarah was saved at the age of 11. She was raised

in Faith Children’s Home in Tampa, Florida from 18 months to 21 years.

She attended Clearwater Christian College and received a Bachelor’s de-

gree in Elementary Education. They have three children—Luke (17), Lisa

(14) and Leanne (12). Eric and Sarah Lantrip were approved as Baptist

Bible Fellowship missionaries to Austria in May 2002. They served their

internship at the Bethany Baptist Church in Melbourne, FL. After a two

year break, the Lantrips were reinstated as BBFI missionaries to Austria in

May 2010. They have seen several former Muslims come to Christ in

Austria, through Bible studies and discipleship. Several were baptized and

many came out with clear stands for Christ. One man named Reza was

one who started out as a Muslim, then moved from Iran to the Ukraine

and became a communist and then met the Lantrips in Austria. He made a

clear profession of faith and after discipleship for 2 years began teaching

other Muslims and people from Afghanistan and Iran. They also were

able to help an Austrian, Baptist church without a pastor for 3 years. He

was able to preach many times and do baptisms within the church. This

was one of the few non-Catholic churches within Graz.

Ron & Nancy Minton Ron Minton grew up in Dumas, Texas where he was saved as a teenager at

Bible Baptist Church. He dedicated his life to the Lord at age 20 while in

the Navy, and has desired to serve Him since. He earned a B.A. in NT

Greek, a M.Div. at Grace Theological Seminary, a ThM in Hebrew and

OT Studies. He received a ThD in NT and Greek from Central Baptist

Theological Seminary. In the military, he served as a submariner and later

as a Navy Reserve Chaplain. Nancy (Gavitt) Minton grew up in Rhode

Island, and was saved at age nine under the preaching of Evangelist Hy-

man Appleman. She was raised by godly parents, attended Second Baptist

Church, and was a leader among the church teens. She won numerous

awards in high school and attended several colleges. She toured the USA

for a year with the musical-drama group, the Agape Players. Ron and

Nancy were married on July 4, 1972. They are blessed to have two grown

sons who are serving the Lord. While teaching Greek at Capital Bible

Seminary, they answered the call as full-time missionaries to Ukraine. Ron

is the director of the IBBC-International Baptist Bible College in Ukraine.

In Ukraine, Nancy takes care of her husband, keeps the house livable,

mentors and teaches women and children, does nursery work, helps with

administration and computer issues in IBBC, is active in outdoor evange-

lism, promotes hygiene and health among the students and churches, and

helps communicate with supporting churches.

UNCERTAIN FUTURE

The modern Bible-believing mission program is in grave danger today. Deputizing missionaries are finding it more difficult than ever to raise the needed funds to serve the Lord abroad. Looking at the situa-

tion realistically, we face a crisis that we dare not ignore, hoping it will disappear. Among Bible-believing Baptists there is a reservoir of funds that must be tapped to get missionaries to the fields beyond. But

that supply of funds is being challenged as it must serve the need not only of new missionary recruits, but must also bolster the growing needs of veteran missionaries who find themselves in a world where

inflation is devouring their current support. As a result, many of these veterans are actually returning on furlough to again enter the field of deputation to raise support for their budget. How does a mission-

ary continue his ministry on the field under these conditions? They must ask their supporters for additional funds, or they must come home. Will you be among those here at Southside Baptist Church who

make missions a priority in your life? Will you give by faith promise so they can go? Will you give so they can stay there? Or perhaps, will you go?(Excerpts from “The Uncertain Future of Worldwide

Missions”, David Cummins, Baptist World Messenger, Summer 2007)

Scott & Jessica Marsh Scott grew up in a Christian family going to Christian youth camps, but it

wasn’t until the summer of 1999 when he first understood that salvation

only comes through a real, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Imme-

diately, Scott was burdened with the thought of how many people were

living without a real relationship with Christ. It was at this time that he

determined to serve God through full time, vocational ministry. When

Jessica was 17 she recognized a desperate need for a Savior. Through

unavoidable circumstances and a series of bad choices she came to a place

where there was no mistaking her need for a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Her desire and ever growing passion is for others all across the globe to

know and experience the reality of Jesus Christ. Scott & Jessica both

attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO. They met during their

freshman year (2001) and were married in June, 2004. They have two

children—Violet (2) and Ruby (1). Jessica graduated in 2005 with a degree

in Education, and Scott graduated in 2006 with a degree in youth/Bible. In

2008, they both earned a missions degree through Baptist Bible College/

Louisiana Baptist Theological Seminary. During the fall of 2006 they went

on a trip to Amsterdam. It was on this trip that they recognized the great

need for Christ centered churches in Holland. After several months of

prayer, they knew God was directing them to start churches in Amsterdam

and throughout the Netherlands.
