New Development Tolleson High Street Plaza Ready for Tenants
Tolleson’s newest development, Tolleson High Street Plaza located on
83rd Avenue and Van Buren Street is managed by Mikeno
Management. This new retail development is pre-leasing units. The
property is near an intersection with great traffic counts and borders
abundant industrial distribution centers, residential communities, and
the Tolleson police station. Great visual exposure in combination with
a colorful stacked container design guarantee that the Tolleson High Street
Plaza will draw in customers. The retail center features five buildings (two
of which include a drive thru), an innovative water feature, as well as trees
and sails in the courtyard to provide shade.” For details regarding this
Tolleson Street Plaza contact Linda Chipman from J&L Exclusive Homes
& Properties at (480) 990-1500. For questions regarding all business
opportunities in Tolleson, contact Tolleson’s Economic Development
Director, Jason Earp at (623) 936-7111.
91st Avenue Widening Construction Begins
January 2018 brings the beginning of construction for the widening of 91st Avenue from south of the I-10
to just south of Van Buren Street. Construction will begin late January and is anticipated to be complete
by the end of June 2018. 91st Avenue will remain open during the entire project.
The 3 lane street will expand to 5 lanes allowing for better flow of traffic. Thirty two (32) of the existing
trees will remain and of those 16 are pecan trees. The west side of the street will be lined in areas with
small seat walls just like on Van Buren Street. Businesses and homeowners directly abutting 91st Avenue
have been contacted by phone and/or mail
informing them of the construction project. For
questions regarding this project, please email
[email protected] or call (623) 474-
4986.

Wrapping Paper...To Recycle or Not to Recycle?
When trying to determine if a paper product is
recyclable, we often go by the simple rule, 'If it tears, throw it into the recycling bin.' However,
wrapping paper poses several issues when it comes to recycling. Many of the materials used to create
specialty wrapping paper include dyes, laminations, non-paper additives like glitter, foil, or plastic, and tape. All of these added materials deem most
wrapping papers NON-Recyclable.
If you are using a wrapping paper for your gifts that
contains any of the before mentioned items, your paper will more than likely end up in a landfill. If
you choose to be a 'Green Wrapper', higher
quality papers do exist that can be recycled they are free of any foils, glitter, or add-ons. Tape will have
to be removed after opening.
Holiday Tips: Don’t Advertise Your Gifts
Don’t publicize new and expensive gifts by placing boxes out on the curb. Big screen TV’s, laptops,
iPads, and other expensive gifts can attract the attention of potential buglers. Take time to break or cut down your boxes and place them inside your
recycling container.
If boxes are too large, you may place them out on the curb for bulk trash pick-up. Be sure to hide the
writing on the box by turning and facing the box inward in the pile.
For questions regarding sanitation services or to
sign up for bulk trash service, please register on-
line at www.tollesonaz.org/bulktrash or by
calling (623) 936-7141.
