PREMARITAL CONFERENCE HBBC will host a one-day Premarital Counseling Seminar on Saturday, October 20, 2018. This seminar will be available to all couples who are planning an upcoming wedding. The course will be led by Nathan Blake. Nathan, a licensed counselor in private practice, facilitated HBBC’s first Premarital Counseling Seminar earlier this year. All who participated agreed that “Marriage Bootcamp,” as they playfully called it, was a valuable experience and well worth the while. The conference will include two meals and all program materials. If you are interested in registering, please contact David Hailey at [email protected] or sign-up online by October 10 at www.hbbc.org/marriage. Space is limited. DISASTER RELIEF Efforts are continuing throughout the eastern part of our state to assist those affected by Hurricane Florence. As you consider how you can help, we encourage you to pray for those affected by Hurricane Florence as well as those that are serving to help. You can also give to help the efforts that will be ongoing for several months. Indicate disaster relief in your gift and the money will be given through one of our partner groups that are serving in these areas. There are also opportunities to serve as the recovery work is underway. Recovery work is dirty, but is needed. So if you can give a day or more, contact Kristen Muse ([email protected]) and she can help you find a place to serve. WOMEN’S SACRED RHYTHMS GROUP If you are a woman who hasn’t yet experienced Sacred Rhythms, consider giving 7 weeks to go on this transformational journey. Starting on Monday, October 15 from 9:30-11:00 AM, Maggie Gordon and Julie Fleming will lead this study from Ruth Hailey Barton that will draw participants closer to God and to one another. Discover what it means to consider the question, What do I desire from God and How might He be calling me to rearrange my life to live more fully in Christ. If you are interested in joining this group, contact Kristen Muse ([email protected]). CO-ED SACRED RHYTHMS GROUP On Thursdays from 7:00-8:30 PM, a co-ed group will explore what it means to develop a rule of life that will seek to transform your relationship with God and others. This study will begin on Thursday, October 11 and continue for 7 weeks. If you are interested in joining this group, contact Kristen Muse. ([email protected]). OCTOBER 7, 2018 HALF-TRUTHS DISCUSSION Join us on Wednesdays through October 24 at 6:15 PM in the Fellowship Hall as we explore popular sayings that sound like they're in the Bible, but are not. Simple phrases like: "God helps those who help themselves," "Everything happens for a reason," and "Love the sinner, hate the sin." They sound biblical, and in some respects, they capture an element of truth. But they also miss the point in important ways. SECOND ANNUAL GOLF OUTING OCTOBER 26 HBBC’s second annual golf tournament is Friday, October 26, 2018, at 1:00 PM. The tournament will be played at Raleigh Golf Association. Lunch will be provided at noon. Registration is $180 per four-person team ($45/person). This includes lunch, goody bag, golf, and snacks.
