Monkshouse Has Got Talent!
We had exciting afternoon of dance,
singing, ventriloquists, gymnastics,
drumming and Rubiks Cube skills last
Friday as the class winners per-
formed to an audience of pupils,
parents and judges! All the partici-
pants were very confident and did really well.
The overall winner was the ‘Wild Card’
entry which was Daisy Darley who per-
formed an amazing
Bollywood dance.
The school were then treated
to a ‘Spice Girl’ performance
from Mr Roberts,
Mrs Wheatley,
Miss Hales, Miss
Dobbs and Mrs
Lane!
Monkshouse Bafta Club
Bookings for the Monkshouse Bafta Club for September are
to be handed in by Wednesday 20th July. Orders after this
date cannot be accepted. Registration and bookings are avail-
able on the school website and in the office.
Please note, when booking, all money and forms are to be re-
turned in a named, sealed envelope clearly marked ‘The Bafta
Club’ as the school office will not be doing the administration
for this new initiative.
As you are aware, this is a new venture, so please bear with us! Booking forms may change in due course to be able to book termly. Thank you for your cooperation
Year 6 v Staff Rounders
The year 6 children challenged the staff on Monday to
the annual rounders match. This year, the staff were
victors winning 6-2!
KS1 Kick-Rounders
Children in KS1 participated in an
inter-house kick rounders competition
on Monday with Phoenix beating Grif-
fin in the final 7-5! Unicorn came
third and Centaur fourth. Well done
to all involved!
Bike Safety
If your child cycles to school, please can you remind them the importance to
stay safe.
• Look behind before you turn, overtake or stop
• Use arm signals before you turn right or left
• Obey traffic lights and road signs
• On busy or narrow roads do not cycle next to another person
• When overtaking parked cars, watch out for car doors opening sud-
denly
These are just some of the rules children who ride on roads should know.
Young cyclists need to learn what road signs mean, how to deal with rounda-
bouts and understand when to give way.

To end our topic ‘Fun in the Sun’ the children in reception celebrated with

Victoria (Wrens).
Class Swap
On our move up day last week, Mrs Darker’s year 1’s-to-be, not only col-
