V O R S T E L I J K O R A N J E/Het Koninklijk Huis is nauw aan Delft verbonden. Nederlandse vorsten worden in de Nieuwe Kerk bijgezet en het imposante praalgraf van Willem van Oranje geeft de Kerk koninklijke allure. Museum Het Prinsenhof vertelt het verhaal van Willem van Oranje. In Museum Het Prinsenhof – waar Willem van Oranje in 1584 werd vermoord – kun je de kogelgaten in de muur nog zien.

R O Y A LO R A N G E/The House of Orange has close ties with Delft. Delft’s Nieuwe Kerk is the official burial place for the Dutch Royal Family and William of Oran-ge’s impressive mausoleum certainly gives the church a regal air. The Museum Het Prinsenhof tells the whole story of William of Orange, because it was in Museum Het Prinsenhof that William of Orange was murdered in 1584 – you can even still see the bullet holes in the wall.

Art of Kitsch’ Museum Het Prinsenhof (until 01-09) shows how Delft pottery became so popular and traces its changing image throughout the centuries. See pottery through the eyes of the artists. By car: park your car in one of the three car parks on the edge of the city centre (follow the ‘P’ signs). Parking costs 2.40 per hour (charged in 5 minute slots). If you make a purchase in any of the participating shops you will be given a ticket for up to 3 hours’ free parking.

Bike: you can park your bike for free in ‘Biesieklette’s’ supervised bike parks.

De nieuwe tentoonstelling over de Vader des Vaderlands gaat over zijn leven, de moord in Het Prinsenhof en over zijn legendarische nalatenschap voor Nederland. Over Delfts Blauw hoor en zie je hoe een Delfts product is uitgegroeid tot een wereldwijd icoon. Tot en met 23 mei 2014 is Museum Het Prinsenhof in verband met de herinrichting gesloten.
