asked to verify that they have the TOEFL

certificate (at least minimum score of 70).

InformationThe TOEFL exam is only valid for 2 years .It

is recognised by over 9,000 institutions

worldwide.Candidates receive a score

ranging from 0 to 30 in each

section.Candidates receive an overall score

ranging from 0 to 120.It is, therefore,

essential to check the minimum score that

you need for university requirements.

Candidates are required to read really fast. Depending on thenumber of text passages, candidates are given between 60-80minutes to complete the Reading section. The amount of time isonly given on the day of the test. Candidates have approx. 20minutes to do each Reading passage.

There are two different types of audio inthe Listening:

When do I getmy results?

Online registration is the fastest.You can start to register between

five to six months before the exam.It is recommended to register at

least three months before theofficial exam date.

No, candidates are not allowedto eat or drink during the test.

How do I cancelmy test?

Candidates are required tocancel their test four full daysbefore the test not includingthe test day. You can do this

by logging into your ETSaccount.

What happens ifmy test is

postponed?

If a test is postponed,candidates are allowed to pick

another available test date.

Candidates are usually sent outa copy of their results in the

post (approx. 10-15 days) andwill also be able to see their

results online within twoweeks.

Can you take the Writtenand Speaking exam on

different dates?

The TOEFL exam is taken in oneday. Candidates cannot take theWritten and Speaking exam on

different dates.

Do candidates geta break during the

TOEFL exam?

The TOEFL exam is 4,5 hourslong. In the middle of the

exam candidates are given a10 minute break.Candidatesare asked to leave the room.

Do I have to useAmerican English?

Even though the TOEFL exam isfrom an American institution,

both American and BritishEnglish are accepted.

When does theexam usually

8:00-10:00 am.

Can I just do partof the exam?

No, candidates must doall parts of the exam on

the same day.

Can I order morethan one testscore report?

Can I get extraaccommodation, if I

have a disability?

Yes, candidates should contact the testcentre at least three weeks before their

test date to make a request for extraaccommodation. Candidates should

submit a medical certificate.

Yes, candidates are allowed toorder more than one test scorereport 10 days after the exam.
