Todays Muslim is lost. Lost not in the mundane world or the world of illusions. Lost in

the numerous & diverse interpretations of Islam & Quran in particular. Not only there are

numerous & diverse interpretations but even contradictory to each other. As a Muslim wedont know which interpretation to imbibe & mould into our actions. No doubt Islam is

Bar Haq. But is it worthwhile to stick to the interpretations of Islam & Quran, which

made its stronghold in the 7th

century Arabia? Doesnt Islam have something of the air ofthe desert to it? Doesnt the geographical factor & the culture of Arabia should be kept

into continuous contemplation while understanding Islam?

There are innumerable queries erupting in the todays Muslim s mind. Some says thatsuch doubts & talks are heresy. But what is faith founded by strangling doubts?

Whenever the hold of Faith weakens doubts erupts. Through the long & tedious journey

of doubt we can arrive at the oasis of faith. Faith is culmination of doubts & not

contradictory to it. Doubts are the roots & Faith is the flower.Iqbal had said that if Muslims were one & united it would not have been a miracle.

Because Muslims have One Quran, One Prophet, & One Allah. But it is a miracle that in

spite of these truths Muslims arent united.

We atInMuco

are attempting to bring all the Muslims from all the directions together.It isnt an easy task. We arent preaching a new sect. There are so many to choose from.

Our attempt is to bring out the common factor binding all these sects. So that these sectslook like parts or organs of a unified body i.e. Islam.

Contradictions give color & beauty to life. There is nothing profane about it.

We at InMucobelievethat economic backwardness isnt the prominent problem beforetodays Muslims. It is a problem that can be tackled properly when Muslims are

UNITED. It is an irony. All the sects are Islamic sects. But still an effort is required to

unify them.

All the sects have beauty of their own. Distinction isnt hierarchical. Muslims need tounderstand the foundations of different sects. Through understanding only; unity can be

accomplished. We are talking about a live & throbbing unity. Not dull & dead unity. Alldead things are alike & colorless. Only life is colorful & pulsating. We need live Islam.With all contradictions & paradoxes; but still united. United in the sense that not oozing

out hatred towards each other & as the final instance; humanity at large.

Islamic education in the todays context is an urgent requirement. Interpretation of Islammust be contemporary.

What Quran revealed before fourteen centuries was appropriate for that clime & period.

Muslims should ask whether the same interpretations are appropriate today also. And if

the answer is in negative we should sharpen our acumen to interpret it afresh & in aunifying manner.
