“The decision to stop the freeshuttle services for MRT com-muters is proof that the callousand failed leadership of the Lib-eral Party is what guides ViceMayor Peña,” sabi ni Salgado saisang text message.

Always Annabelle’s babyWhat’s the best and the

    hardest part about being aGutierrez?

Best part is we always stick  with each other through thick and thin. We always get back on our feet after life knocks usdown. Hardest part is the publicscrutiny. But we understandthat it comes with the territory.

How is your mom and Ruf-fa’s relationship these days?

It’s normal because they have always been this way. My mom is very protective and my sister is an independent womanso clashes cannot be avoided. But when you truly know them,

you will realize how much they

love each other. Don’t be sur-prised if they are best friendsagain tomorrow.

Hope for JiroMy heart goes out to  Jiro

Manio. He is about the sameage as my son,  IC Mendoza. Both of them started in the bizas child stars. They worked inseveral movies together.

IC felt so sad when he sawJiro roaming aimlessly at theairport. All IC could do was hughim. As IC’s caption on his In-stagram post of his picture withJiro goes, “Okay lang may pag-daanan. Huwag mo lang tam-bayan.”

I remember how I marveledat his performance in  Magnifico.Jiro has it in him. His raw tal-ent is such a terrible thing to

waste. I asked his mentor,Maryo J. de los Reyes  for hissentiments about his former

     ward.Direk Maryo responded, “I

took care of him for years. I didmy best. He really needs profes-sional help. I will always bearound for him. But I am not as

young as I used to be so I canno longer take the stress of

watching over him full-time. Somany of us in the industry are

willing to help him. He shouldget rid of the doubts in his headand help himself, too.”

I really hope that we’ll wit-ness the rebirth of Jiro  Magnifi-

A SIDE from something new, something old, something borrowed and something blue, celebrity couples also make sure to have some-

thing “Nice Print” when they take the plunge. The pre-

ferred video/photo studio of the stars covered its nthshowbiz wedding recently, that of Elvis Gutierrez and

Alexa Uichico. They have been a couple for

nine years. The most challeng-ing time was when Alexamoved to the United States tostudy. But the long-distance re-lationship made their bondstronger.

The couple’s daughter,  Aria, was born last September.

    The Gutierrez-Uichico nup-

tials at Santuario de San Anto-nio and reception at the BlueLeaf Pavilion was a star-studdedaffair. The crème de la crème  of showbiz and politics came infull force.

Best man Richard Gutierrezrecalled in his speech that he,his twin Raymond, and Elvis

were practically consideredtriplets as kids since they wereborn just nine months apart.

The groom’s mom, Annabelle Rama, said thatElvis (whom she fondly calls,“Taba” or “Bobot”) will alwaysbe her baby. During moving mo-ments, Tita A lets her tenderside show. Yes, it takes guts to

be a Gutierrez. But underneathall that is a soft heart.

    Here’s my one-on-one withElvis:

What advice did your par-ents give you about marriage?

Always pray and let God bethe center of our relationship.

AP
