TODAY’S GOOD NEWS

SPECIAL EDITION 9

HONOURING MARTHAS AND MARYS Pastor Stephan and Stephanie

As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him.  She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said.  But Martha was distracted

by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself?

Tell her to help me!” “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one.

Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” LUKE 10:38-42

STUDYING 1 PETER 1:10-24 Peter encourages us to gird up our minds and take control of our thoughts. He says it’s time to secure your mind and rest your hope fully in the truth of Jesus. It’s a learning process. Learn to rest your mind on the Truth and place your hope in the Lord. Hope for today, hope for tomorrow and hope for all eternity. Banish fear and trust in the Lord! Set your hope on God’s truth. No need to be tormented, rest your mind in the hope of God. We are children of God called to be holy as He is holy. God is not a pushover. He expects our obedience. His judgements are righteous. We must conduct ourselves with a reverent fear of God because the cost of our redemption was precious and priceless. A HUGE price was paid. We must understand and come to see it as precious. (To fully understand the price that God paid and the price that Jesus paid study Isaiah 53 monthly.). God’s love is powerful. God’s love is incorruptible. We as God’s people should know what love looks like. We are commanded to love one another with a fervent love and from a pure heart with pure motives. Love asks “how can I bless you?” All believers are to share the pure, holy, untainted love of God. His love is what sets us apart from others. His love is how others recognize something is different about us. The love of God for us, our love for Him and our love for each other. It’s a living love from a living God. Stir up your hearts! Love one another with a fervent living love.

BEHOLD! CHILDREN OF GOD

My precious sons and daughters,

You are worthy of being loved.

Not because of the personality, charm, or sense of humour that I have given you, but because you are so precious that

I died for you. All my love, forever and always,

Jesus

To Fran, this funeral meant everything.   She so wanted us to dance and sing praises to our Lord God.

She wanted it to be something special. Fran… it will be special!

Yours will be our first ever Virtual Funeral.   We can all still sing and dance in our homes.

We will always remember your “never give up” attitude, your deep love of family, your care and concern for

your sisters and brothers in Christ, and most of all…. your deep and abiding love in our Saviour and Lord, Jesus Christ.

You, dear friend, precious sister… will never be forgotten.   Until we meet again… we will rest in the knowledge of where you are.

HOW TO CONNECT TO THE FUNERAL SERVICE: Via Facebook or Via Zoom: Fran’s service live streamed on FaceBook and Zoom.

(exactly the same format as our Church Services)   Zoom details will emailed to our Bethel family around 12:30pm on Friday May 22.

Connect by Phone: Call Deb Rinas (705 726 8310) on or before Thursday 21. You’ll be added to the Zoom phone list.

On Friday morning you will be called and given the details needed to dial in.

Let’s join our hearts and our voices to celebrate a life devoted to the service and love of Jesus Christ. She is in His presence now. That’s worth celebrating!

She so wanted us to

dance and sing praises

to our Lord  God.
