The most important things are to get familiar with relevant information, in example postgraduate Academic Rules and Regulations, IGS Process and Procedures for Research and Coursework programmes and Guideline on Thesis/Dissertation Format for Postgraduate Programme. These documents are available online and can be downloaded via student portal under i-library section in i-learn portal. Information can also be obtained from IGS website.
It is essential to visit IGS website at https://ipsis.uitm.edu.my regularly to keep abreast with the latest information and academic announcements. Note that all IGS activities requires you to register online via the website. While you are busy checking IGS activities and reading our announcements, please ensure you update on your faculty’s activities and deadlines as well.

Introduction
UiTM takes pride in its establishment as one of the premier institutions of higher education in the country. Although the history of UiTM dates back to 1956, the
genesis and growth of the Institute of Graduate Studies (IGS) can be traced to April 1997. It was the passing and ratification of the ITM Act in 1976/1997/1999 that laid the foundation for the establishment of IGS. Although being relatively new, the Institute prides itself as being progressive, dynamic and innovative in fulfilling its aims of providing opportunities for Bumiputera graduates to further their education at the Master’s and Doctoral levels.
This thus endorses its vision of engendering academic excellence and being at the forefront of graduate academic advancement. In striving to raise the levels of professional graduate education, it is the Institute’s mission to nurture the creation of a graduate learning community by providing educational opportunities that would help to push its frontiers for societal well-being.
IGS operates as the nerve-centre of graduate-level education in the institution and is responsible for the implementation and management of overall administration. It coordinates and formulates policies on admission and academic regulations, as well as provides support to facilitate research and learning among postgraduate students.

Course Registration Process for NEW and RETURNING STUDENTS
COURSE REGISTRATION
1. Login to Student Portal through UiTM website (http://www.uitm.edu.my)2. Enter STUDENTS Student Portal Login3. For LOGIN ID - enter Student Matrix No
PASSWORD - enter Identification Card Number/ Passport4. Enter the Course Registration Screen.5. Enter REGISTER NEW COURSES.6. Enter related group for the subject to register.7. Choose a group for each course (confirm with faculty on the group and check the time table to avoid clashes).
Note: a) Students with credit hours exceeding the maximum limit will be blocked from choosing groups. Please drop courses with higher codes first to comply with the maximum number of credit hours.
b) Please ensure that all your pre-registration course(s) (selected during pre-registration process) are grouped accordingly.
c) Courses which are not grouped will be dropped automatically by the system after the last date of addition/dropping of courses.
8. Print and keep the printout of the Temporary Course Registration Slip. Reprint and keep the slip each time you make any changes to your course registration.
VALIDATION OF REGISTERED COURSES
1. Login to Student Portal.2. Enter the Validation of Course Registration screen.3. Check that there are no appropriate courses left unregistered and that all the registered courses are correct.4. Click the Validation button. Note: Students who have NOT PAID the tuition fees will be blocked from performing the validation process of course registration.5. Print and keep the printout of the Course Registration Information (the final copy) for your future reference.
Note :• Refer to UiTM’s academic calendar and adhere to important dates and deadlines of academic activities such as course registration, validation of registered courses, change of programme mode, etc. • A student’s candidature will be terminated if he/she fails to pay tuition fees and/or to

IPSis’s One Stop Centre (OSC) was established in 2020 to be a convenient One-Stop Centre providing efficient services on academic and non-academic matters and offer support to postgraduate students in UiTM under one roof. The objective of OSC is to ensure UiTM postgraduate students receive services in a professional manner within the prescribed period of time.

Financial Aids For Postgraduate Students

This UiTM Postgraduate Teaching Assistant Scheme provides financial aid for the students to support their studies. The students are required to serve the faculty as the teaching assistants for a maximum of six hours with RM25 per hour wage.

PTPTN Education Loan Scheme was established to give educational loans to students studying at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) local. This funding will allow students to pay full or partial tuition fees and living costs during the period of their studies at university. Thus, the scheme is open up more opportunities for all groups of students to pursue higher education.

UiTM Endowment Programme
UiTM is providing an opportunity for excellent Malaysian and international students to pursue their undergraduate and postgraduate studies at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) by offering them the UiTM Endowment Scholarship, the first of its kind in UiTM. The scholarship will not only cover academic tuition fees but also a rewarding monthly allowance. For the year 2020, more than 50 scholarships will be awarded to selected students categorised as follows:• Undergraduate scholarships for Malaysian citizens• Postgraduate scholarships for Malaysian citizens • Postgraduate scholarships for overseas students studying at UiTM in the stipulated prioritised areas.
