How will we make sure your child is making good progress?
• We are a fully inclusive school and cater for students of all abilities• In order to support your daughter to make excellent progress we will
need to know their starting point • We then give a guide for where each child should be by the end of
each academic year• This data is shared with teachers so they can plan lessons to meet
the needs of your child• 4 times per year teachers enter a grade showing where your
daughter sits in relation to their target• Teachers provide assessment data 4X per year and this is shared with
you• We provide additional support to students who require it

Homework
• We expect students to complete homework in order to consolidate and further develop the learning taking place in the classroom
• Year 7 students will have 30 - 40 mins per subject and 20 minutes reading time each evening
• Homework might be project based work ie create a model of a Cell (Science) or make a model of a Norman castle (History), it could be reading ahead within a topic or it could be consolidating learning that has taken place in the classroom.
• Homework is set via Google Classroom and each student will have access to a Google Classroom for each of their subjects

The Form Tutor
• Your daughter will see her form tutor every day for 20 minutes • The tutor time programme is bespoke for Year 7s around managing
the transition and organisation
• Messages are provided, children have a chance to talk to each other, we discuss the news and complete literacy and numeracy activities
• You will meet your daughter’s tutor in September to see how your daughter has settled in
• There will be 30 students in your daughter’s tutor group - we have 5 tutor groups of 30 students in each
