Yes~ I think 1~11 do that~ 1~11 probably fly out Sunday. ~

This implementation is so screwed up ~ some key points:

All touchpoints are synchronous There is no guaranteed delivery of messages ~they do not use JMS or Mqueue ~ all web services are submitted over HTTP • if they fail or if a server is down • that is it. Everything is integrated together with web services • tightly coupled • which is bad • this should be loosely coupled via JMS messaging. When something fails ~ no one knows where • you cannot retry the message due to the above.

Now I cannot help with the above •that is a fundamental architecture design issue.

l•m really at a loss as to how they could design SL.Ch a system.

If it was me ~ I would: Simple site that takes all the information • then says • we will provide you an option •personalized~ in say 36 hours via email.• Something like this is simple static HTML which is extremely simple and fast and scalable. All touchpoints would be async and taken care of in JMS or MQ •if a message fails • it wi ll set in the queue for someone to look at • and determine what the fix will be.• Each component should be tested in isolation (Siebel, UCM, MOM, IDM etc.)

l•m just scratching my head here~

The resources are working from 9AM to beyond 1AM then coming back the next day •everyone is exhausted ~it is really bad .• I had to leave yesterday as I feel• l~m no good w/o a good night~s rest• which allowed me to come in this morning with a fresh perspective and identify some really nasty OEM issues.

Have a nice Sunday •in the words of Dave Chappell ~1•11 keep it real here.

Thanks!

Chris

If it still seems there is an objective benefit to your being onsite, or that isn~t clear to Bo, l•d suggest planning to fly to POX Monday marring.

Awesome ~ the Oregon local guys behind me that have been talking about stuff out loud for the last two hours have been~ ohh man~ those guys are so screwed to have to be at the Portland airport on Wed ~ it is going to be a complete nightmare~ .

Spoke with George Friday night and discussed this topic.

As far as he is concerned, there should be no issue with your leaving Tuesday. The OCS folks should understand that we are doing them a big favor with your on-site involvement.
