SMART LIFE™ Assure™ with Sabretech QS Antimicrobial technology is an EPA

registered Bio-Static product based on a unique formulation which effectively

Assure™

In the 1970s Dow Corning developed and patented a

residual antimicrobial molecule (with silane base). This

breakthrough molecule was primarily focused on the

elimination of odors on textiles. The patent has long

since expired but the molecule lives on today in novel

roles. Researchers of this molecule quickly realized the

global significance for reducing many of today's and

tomorrow's disease-causing pathogens. A team of trusted

scientific professionals developed new formulations and

application methods with DOW Chemical’s breakthrough

molecule which led to the creation of Sabretech QS

company.

SILANE BASE

Once the Silane base creates a strong bond with the target substrate, the propyl group connects the Silane to the positively charged nitrogen atom.

This process modifies surface properties of building materials transforming them to a material that will not support microbial growth. It becomes the “glue” holding the “swords” to the surface.

THE SWORDS

The molecule is topped by a chain of 18 carbons surrounded by a field of protons which acts to pierce the microbe and begin its destruction as it is drawn along the chain toward charged nitrogen atom.

IS THE SABRETECH TECHNOLOGY A QUATERNARY COMPOUND?

Sabretech QS is an organosilane - part of the molecule is a quaternary amine. Unlike traditional quats, which

have a very short effectiveness and a limited kill spectrum, Sabretech QS provides long-term protection controlling a very broad spectrum of microorganisms

(including Gram(+) and Gram(-) bacteria).

Ease of use and the residual protection are key market differentiators.

The active ingredient in the SMART LIFE™ Assure™ Antimicrobial Surface Protector forms a colorless, odorless, positively charged polymer chemically bonding to the treated surface and laying out a battlefield blanket of electrically charged swords destroying the pathogens.

The positive charge of this non-leaching molecule attracts bacterial, fungal and viral contaminants from the surrounding airspace. When a microorganism comes in contact with the treated surface, the "quat" or "sword” punctures the cell membrane and the electrical charge shocks the cell. This is a physical rupture of the cell membrane, SMART LIFE™ Assure™ Antimicrobial Surface Protector is not consumed by the organism and stands ready to defend the surface from the risks of cross contamination.

Nothing transfers to the now dead cell. The SMART LIFE™ Assure™ antimicrobial doesn’t lose strength enablingthe sword to become ready for the next cell to contact itwith a new cycle of pathogen destruction.

Conventional products are absorbed into living cells and kill by way of poisoning the organism. They are designed to act quickly and dissipate quickly to avoid adverse effects to humans and animals due to their toxic ingredients. Most commercial antimicrobials used for treating building surfaces do a great job of getting a quick kill on bacteria and fungi, although most have a limited spectrum of effectiveness. The Sabretech technology takes a totally unique approach. It provides an effective initial microbial kill when applied, like the conventional methods but it also provides long-term control of growth on treated surfaces…that basically lasts for the life of that surface. The surface itself is modified to make it actively antimicrobial for the normal life of the substrate onto which SMART LIFE™ Assure™

STEP 1: SURFACE PREPARATION (Sanitize and Disinfect)

WHY?

Once cured or dry the antimicrobial is non-volatile, insoluble, and non-leaching.

Treating a dirty or unstable surface decreases the effectiveness of the antimicrobial. Abrasive or

caustic (pH 12.0) cleaners can shorten the effective life of a treated surface.

Professional applicators have seen effectiveness for the life of the substrate or surface under

normal cleaning conditions.

STEP 2: Utilizing an electrostatic sprayer (1 U.S. gallon covers 8,000 to 12,000 sq. ft.):

1. Wave the wand creating light even mist that is barely visible on the surface.

2. If you see any drips runs, streaks, spots or puddles immediately wipe with a microfiber cloth.

NOTE: For best results and efficiency we recommend electrostatic sprayer applications.
