Welcome to Transact

Welcome to the latest issue of our Transact

newsletter which is once again packed full of

news, updates, discussion and features.

It is an exciting time at TNS and we wanted to

share with you an insight into the new way we

are positioning our business. Many of you will

already have spoken with a TNS account

manager or representative about how we are refocusing our organisation into two distinct

lines of business – Payment Network Solutions and Payment Gateway Solutions.

Our decision to do this came as a result of a strategic review with customers and key

industry players and it became apparent that this is how you view us already. By updating

our structure internally we can offer greater focus on the specific solutions we offer,

helping us to better meet your needs and keeping pace with market developments.

We will be heading up the two business areas and have already been pleased to see

improvements across our teams as they enjoy greater clarity in their roles and

responsibilities, faster decision making and better accountability as a result of the move.

The Payments Network Solutions team will be responsible for our network connectivity

services, as well as the value-added products that are closely related to our network

services, such as point-to-point encryption. The Payment Gateway Solutions team will

take ownership of all of TNS’ payment gateway products, including TNSPay eCommerce

and TNSPay Direct.

If you have any questions about this please contact your account manager or ourselves

and we would be happy to discuss this in more detail.

Global Wireless Access (GWA) is a roaming

SIM solution optimised for POS terminals.

Designed to specifically meet the needs of the

payments industry, GWA provides secure and

reliable wireless connectivity in over 150

countries and helps to simplify SIM deployment, operation and management.

Key benefits:

Greater flexibility and control – An advanced diagnostics portal and dedicated terminal

application allow you to provision SIMs quickly and easily, as well as view and make

changes in real time.

Strongest signal detection – Optional applications are included to help the SIM detect

the strongest data signal and move between carriers accordingly, to ensure the highest

availability and enable transactions to be processed virtually anywhere.

Reduced complexity - By using one trusted global supplier you can enjoy just one

contract and one bill to manage, regardless of where you deploy your POS terminals.

Cost and time savings – GWA allows bulk provisioning and pre-activation of SIMs, which

Heartbleed Update

When news of the Heartbleed SSL Security

Bug spread at the beginning of April, TNS’

Security and Operations teams quickly sprang

into action to ensure the confidentiality,

integrity and availability of sensitive cardholder

data on our network.

TNS’ internet-facing services were unaffected

by the Heartbleed Bug. There are a number of

TNS and open-source applications in use on the TNS network which utilize OpenSSL

cryptography libraries, where the vulnerability existed, however, analysis and scanning

confirmed that no TNS internal applications were susceptible to the bug.

This event has led many customers to ask us what would have happened if we had been

affected and so we caught up with Kent Kling, Vice President of Global Security at TNS, to

find out more.
