This is an ornamental pond with very low DO, high ammonia, high pH, and no aquatic life.


Six months earlier, a fountain was installed to increase the oxygen content. Before treatment with the

following readings were recorded:

The best method of testing OXY PROBIOTIC products is in the pond. Most beakers used for lab tests are tall and narrow. They form a column of water, not a body of water.

A body of water, such as an aquaculture pond, has a much larger surface area.

When testing OXY PROBIOTICS always test in the pond!


The anaerobic (bad) bacteria is converted to NH3-N ammonia and quickly evaporates as a gas.

The higher the oxygen level, the less ammonia the water can hold. The large surface area of the pond, the ambient air, and the sun, allows the ammonia to quickly disappear. A beaker in a lab holds the ammonia.
