DESIGNER SERIESTivoli's Designer series Covelum LED system allow for endless possibilities to coordinate your design environment with any particular color scheme. Affordable custom colors without the cost of RGB DMX equipment. Almost any color can be created in easy-to-replace LED PCB modules. Over 48 colors available and count-ing, these same LED PCB modules can be used to retrofi t older low voltage festoon based incandescent systems.Coordinated colors to enhance and accentuate design materials through mixing 6 LEDs per PCB to create vivid illumination. COVELUM LED - DESIGNER WHITESTightly binned Whites - available in 13 different color temperatures of white

LED BINNING LED binning is the most commonly misunderstood aspect of the LED lamp selection process. During the LED manufactur-ing process, unique lot numbers assigned to the components provide some means of traceability. Due to typical variations during manufacturing, each light emitting diode will possess and exhibit a unique set of characteristics. Subsequent to testing, optoelectronics with closely related characteristics are grouped into specifi c bins with pre-defi ned bin identifi ers. LED manufactures normally bin according to three primary characteristics. The intensity bins segregates components in accordance with luminous output. Color bins provide separation for variations in optical wavelength or color temperature. Voltage bins divide components according to variations of their forward voltage rating. Tivoli's binning is done in lots and sorted into bins based on wavelength ranges that achieve colors. Tivoli uses a range of 2400°K to 3400°K for warm white, 4500°K to 6000°K for white and 6000°K to 9000°K for cool white. Individual orders are bin-sorted to within plus or minus 100°K and it is recommended to purchase 10% replacement stock within that bin lot to ensure matched color for needed replacements. White LEDs vary slightly in color temperature from bin to bin. Tivoli references each bin location number on the packing list and labels it on each LED product accordingly. During installa-tion, it is very important that like bins are located in close proximity for color consistency. The overall color will visually appear consistent even with multiple bins located in surrounding areas. However, if different bins are located in close proximity there may be slight color variations visible.

COVELUM™ DESIGNER SERIES WhItE LED for indirect applications is Tivoli’s innovative answer to the challenge of creating color-temperature-specific illumination with white LEDs. This architectural-quality system of LED modules is designed to produce appealing, visually consistent high-CRI illumination by using selective “x” and “y” bin-sort combinations along a tight Kelvin range. The Kelvin temperature selections are measured as visual constants to incandescent Black Body temperatures. COVELUM LED DESIGNER SERIES offers lighting designers six color temperatures of Warm White, four of White and three of Cool White.

Different LED spacings can create dramatically varied effects. Tighter spacing is most appropriate for uniform lighting applications. The chart above is an example of uniform lighting based on spacing between module and distance to surface for even illumination. (See LED spacing guide for recommended distances)

To select the lamp spacing necessary for desired effect, choose a close spacing for an continuous glow when you have a close distance or a wider spacing for a softer light with a greater distance to the wall area to be lit.
