SASEAS families,
I’m pleased to share that our annual Adopt-A-Family service activity at both campuses was a huge success. We raised over
$5,000 to support local families right here in our community. Christmas will be a little brighter for approximately 10 families
and 30 children. Thank you to our fifth grade classes for their awesome magnet/button sale, to our St. Andrew campus students
for the bake sale goodies, to our 8th grade families for some amazing cakes (check them out on our Facebook page!), and to all
of our families for supporting the effort financially. God bless your generosity!
This Thursday, we celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception as we honor Mary’s conception and life free from the
stain of original sin. The Blessed Virgin Mary’s Immaculate Conception is the concrete expression of God's love for Mary, who
gave herself fully, completely, and without hesitation to His service. We will celebrate this Holy Day of Obligation on
Thursday with a 9:00 a.m. Mass at the Seton campus and 11:30 a.m. Mass at St. Andrew. Come worship with us! Students will
also be participating in special classroom and grade-level activities, including praying the Rosary, throughout the day. Check
out this short YouTube video here from Dr. Edward Sri and Ascension Press to learn more.
Please note that this Friday, December 9, is the monthly early dismissal day so our faculty and staff can participate in our
ongoing School of Faith spiritual development. It is also the St. Andrew campus outing at Scene 75 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Next Wednesday, December 14, is Father Cordier’s 60th birthday. Be sure to wish him a happy birthday!
It is never too early to start spreading the word and personally inviting friends and neighbors to our annual Open House which
kicks off Catholic Schools Week. Save the date for Sunday, January 29!
Thank you to the many volunteers who have been working so hard this year in the Seton campus cafeteria to assist our teachers
and Milford Nutrition Services. I’ve been so impressed with your dedication!
Our basketball teams are getting into the full swing of their seasons now with practices, tournaments, and games. Thank you to
all Boosters, coaches and parents who dedicate so much time to provide meaningful athletic opportunities for our teams.
League schedules are posted at www.gccys.org. Good luck and go Titans! Play Hard, Play Smart, Play Together!
Thank you for ALL you do to support our school! It’s a great time to be a Titan!
In Christ,
Mark Wilburn

Passionately Catholic
The first graders have been visited by the Kindness Elf,
who has been teaching them ways to be kind. They have
been doing many acts of kindness to share God's love
with those around us. They have donated a new
playground cart for the playground equipment, used
their manners, given compliments, passed out candy
canes to the whole school, said nice things to people,
made cards, helped others, were friends to people that
needed a friend, and many more kind things. They will
continue to do kind acts throughout the Advent Season
because making others happy is a wonderful reward!
The first graders have been learning about living like
Jesus taught, and sharing God's love with others
especially during the Advent Season.

Hello, School Community!
PTO has been very excited about the increased attendance at
our PTO meetings this school year. We love having more
families involved and sharing ideas! If you ever miss a
meeting but want to know what was discussed, meeting
minutes can be accessed via our school website.
At our November meeting, we covered business for
November and December. Many great ideas were shared.
There is no official PTO meeting or business addressed in
December. Please join us at our January meeting to discuss
upcoming events.
The main focus of January will be Catholic Schools week
and our school Open House- lots of ideas and volunteers will
be needed!
If you haven’t had a chance to check out Sign-Up Genius,
now would be a good time to check out upcoming events
such as Catholic Schools Week, Open House, and Social
Committee.
All meetings are held at Seton at 7:00 p.m. on the following
dates: January 9, February 6, March 6, April 3, and May 1.
Feel free to contact board members at ANY time with ideas,
questions or concerns.

A BIG Thank you ... We Made a Difference!
In April 2016, the SASEAS School community combined efforts to collect plastic caps/lids. We kicked-off our Earth
Week/Arbor Day 2016 mini-celebration by offering to support the "ABC Promise Partnership" (learn more
at http://greentreeplastics.com/abc-promise-partnership/) initiated by The Thomas A. Wildey School in Batavia,
Ohio. The students at the Wildey School were collecting and sorting plastic lids/caps - "ABC" stands for "A Bench
for Caps" - to be recycled and used to manufacture their own bench (or two!)
Well, this Fall, they did it... with our help! Thank you to all of you SASEAS students and families that contributed
almost 8% of the total pounds of plastic lids/caps needed to manufacture the two new benches for The Thomas A.
Wildey School.
Below is a note from the project leader, Maria, and her students at The Thomas A. Wildey School.
THANK YOU!
We did it! Look at the great benches we got from all of the recycled plastic lids! The lids weighed in at 1111 lbs. and
we only needed 800 lbs. to exchange for two beautiful rainbow benches.
Thanks for your contribution!

HOPE (Holy Land Outreach Promoting Education)
Twinning/Pilgrimage—November 16-27, 2016
Latin Patriarchate School, Beit Jala, West Bank, Palestine
On Saturday afternoon I joined my partner
teacher, Mirna, in her home. Her husband
made delicious Arabic coffee! On Sunday the
partner teachers and principal, Suahil Diabes,
met to discuss strategies to teach writing and
firmed up our plans for Monday.
On Monday I spent the day co-
teaching 6th, 9th, 10th, and 11th grade English.
Their English program is rigorous and impres-
sive. I enjoyed a recess break with the stu-
dents, whose school day is 7:30-1:00; they don’t
have lunch at school. They have a lot of home-
work. I met 5 seminarians in the 11th grade
class, pictured to the left. Future priests!
Teachers met on Sunday to share ideas and strategies.
A selfie with the 6th graders!

Thanksgiving Day at LPS St. Joseph School, Nablus
We visited the students and staff at St. Joseph School in Nablus,
West Bank, Palestine. Mrs. Bohlen shared the videos, cards and
Milford City gifts with the students who made the video which was
the inspiration for our Slice of Life in Milford project. We had
quick visits in the classrooms, where we were greeted with “Happy
Thanksgiving!” wishes. Our hosts treated us to a Middle Eastern
feast—delicious! We ended our meal and fellowship with coffee
and dessert. It truly was a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Some pilgrimage time for spiritual growth.
A visit with Bishop Shomali to discuss HOPE and the bishop bestowing the Shell Award for Knight of the Holy Sepulchre pilgrim
Greg Male were unique to our HOPE pilgrimage. Celebrating mass each day with Fr. Chis as our shepherd was a highlight. Walk-
ing in the footsteps of Jesus with other teacher-ministers is a journey that has transformed my soul. I prayed for you all. I am
grateful to Mr. Wilburn for allowing me time to experience this grace-filled twinning pilgrimage! I look forward to the SASEAS
community welcoming teachers from the LPS in October, 2017!
