Okay, time to roll up our sleeves, and learn how to vet questions, so you can earn money.

1. How to Vet AnswersTo vet answers, follow these steps:

1. Set your status to "Available". Be sure to select "Available" and not "Available Points". You won't get

paid for any questions answered in Points Mode.

As a Vetter, you'll be working in "Fast Mode." This means that when you're set to available, new

questions will automatically load as they come in. You'll also be notified of a new question by the

ChaCha doorbell sound, incase you're browsing in another tab or window between questions.

2. Read the Question in the question bar. If you are not familiar with the content, look at the top of the

question bar to see the IKNOW topic and category.

3.Review the possible answers below.

Possible answers are from our Gurus and our PAQ database. If no answers are suitable, use the Search

Bar to refresh the list. Type directly into the Search Box, or click on words in the Original Session to add

them to your search.

Rephrase the Original Session to generate new results.

4.If you see an answer (or answers) that will work, Click to push them to the Answer box. You can also

add words from the Original Session by clicking in the Answer Box and then clicking on the words you

want to use.

5. Edit the answer and send!

Fix any spelling or grammar issues and make sure to capitalize any proper names and at the beginning

of each sentence.

Use the character counter and word counter on the Answer Bar to check the length of your answer. All

ChaCha answers should be at least six words long.

2. Using the Search Bar and Custom Answers

Sometimes there won't be a good answer in the Possible Answers, but that doesn't mean you can't

answer the question. Let's take a look at this one:

Looking at the Possible Answers, we can see that there aren't any that answer this question.

So letʼs try a new search. Letʼs click in the Search Bar and then click the word ʻimbalance. ʼ

Then ʻSearchʼ to see what comes up.

Well, we donʼt have any good sentences here, but these results do give us a good idea of what

ʻimbalanceʼ means. Using that information, we can write a custom answer, right in the Answer Box and

send that to the customer.

That answers the question, and is the right length. Now all we have to do is send it.

3. No Suitable Answers

With the combination of Guru answers and Guide Answers available for each question, you ʼll usually

have no problem providing a suitable answer. However, if it happens that none of the possible answers

are usable, and you're unable to write a custom answer, then click on the “No Suitable Answers” button,

and click ʻOkayʼ on the pop-up…

…and the customer will receive a message asking them to rephrase their question and send it again.

4. Interactive Example

Okay, your turn! Here's a question for you to answer. This customer is looking for an animal with a long

neck.

His symptoms were caused by a chemical imbalance in his brain.

Now let's review the possible answers. Look these over and choose the best one to answer this

question. Go ahead and click it when you find it.

Great! That's sent your answer to Your Answer box. Look it over, make sure it doesn't need any edits

and is the right length. When you're ready, click 'Send.'

And that's it! See how easy this is?

5. Vetting Dos and Don’tsHere are a few reminders for you as you begin vetting.

DO:

•

Use your best judgment on judging the validity of answers•

Create your own answer for opinion and advice Questions if nothing submitted is appealing and you

are knowledgeable and comfortable with the subject matter

•

Answer in the form of a fact--not just with the answer, but with a sentence that repeats the question

•

Feel free to combine multiple Guru answers or add your own knowledge to a Guru answer to create a

better custom answer

Always try to be a positive influence when answering conversational and opinion questions, especially

regarding sex and drugs, as many ChaCha users are younger

DO NOT:•

Include response codes shown in front of the Guru answers

Include text signatures that came through with a Guru Answer

•

Include any major grammatical error

6. Letʼs Review

When vetting, youʼll be reviewing real questions from real customers. The question, as well as the IKNOW

topic and category are found at the top of your screen.

The possible answers below conisist of Guru and Guide-created answers. Review the answers and click a

suitable one to push it to Your Answer box.

There you can edit an answer, combine multiple answers into a more suitable response, or use the base info

to create your own custom answer.

If there is no usuable answer, select the ʻNo Suitable Answerʼ button under the timer to move on to the next

question.
