TIPS TO CARE FOR YOUR JEWELLERY THIS MONSOON

Monsoon is here & so is the terrible humidity. While most of us must have found this a pleasant relief from the scorching summer, we

forget about the precious jewellery that we own. Though we have been told that these metals are inert & sturdy, it doesn’t mean that

moisture has no effect on them.

We are here to give you few tips on how to care for your jewellery this monsoon.

1. Due to its natural properties, Silver is more prone to the effects of humidity as compared to Gold, making them oxidize & fade.

In order to avoid this, store your silver jewellery in dry locations.

2. Try & avoid wearing your beautiful pieces in the rain as much as possible. The metal may be inert, but it can still make the metal lose its lustre.

3. Always store your jewellery in separate bags. These bags shouldn’t be airtight so preferably use cotton bags. They will not only prevent the jewellery from scratching but also protect them from humidity.

4. If by chance you are caught in the rain wearing your jewellery, make sure it is dry before you place them back in the box.

Avoid using paper towels or tissues to dry your jewellery as the fibres can get stuck & scratch the surface of your jewellery.

5. You could place Silica Gel in your jewellery bag. The silica gel will absorb the moisture in the environment & protect the jewellery from blackening.

Keep a regular check on any scratches or damages on your jewellery & keep them safe this monsoon
