1. Reduce interruptions. We have become a society of instant response. This can be very invasive and impact your time.

2. Schedule a specific time to respond to email and phone calls; don’t react the moment a new email arrives or the phone rings.

3. Respond to email and calls by importance (e.g., low importance within 24 hours).

4. Utilize the “One Rule”--• Read an e-mail or piece of paper one time, and classify/file it one

time• Have one calendar that you use to record everything, and avoid

duplication• Set your priorities once each day, and don’t take on additional

tasks without completing or re-prioritizing the previous list
