THE COMPANYEstablished in 2005, Cirque Alfonse is a fresh and innovative addition to Quebec’scircus tradition. Having worked with the most renowned “nouveau cirque” companiesof Quebec and Europe, the company’s founding members are all well experienced inthe circus world. Comprised of a team of professional acrobats (graduates from theNational Circus School in Montreal), a professional dancer, an ex-skiing championand three hot versatile musicians, this audacious group of young performers is blazinga creative path that no one had yet thought to explore. In an inspired look to the futurewith a nod to tradition, Cirque Alfonse has dared to blend the artistry and thetechniques of contemporary circus with traditional Quebecois music and some of theliveliest aspects of Quebec’s traditions and folklore.

"Pardon the expression, but it takes enormousguts to create a contemporary circus showwithout all the customary equipment andapparatuses circus performers usually have attheir disposal. [...] the acrobatic acts tie in verywell with the musical numbers [...]"

- La Presse (Montreal), July 16, 2011

What a

crazy bunch! “Flying axes, a cracking whip, rolling logs and line dancing, all in a festive, unifying circusatmosphere [...] This stunningshow is definitely worth thetrip, if only to take a fresh lookat our roots.”

- Canoe.ca (Montreal),July 16, 2011

An Entertaining return tobas i cs

“To the sound of violins and tapping feet, axesswing through the air and logs become props fornumerous hand-to-hand and balancing acts, log-throwing contests and log driver games. This,in addition to daring axe juggling acts andacrobatic feats above the open blade of a hugetwo- man saw. Simply jaw-dropping.”
