House Project 1: Holy Spirit Home

Home of Berta and Ian with Children: Yuleni (11) and Adrian (6)

This family suffered a devastating fire in July and lost everything they own. They have been able to piece together a small one room shack on the property, but it is inadequate for the family. The gaping hole is from the old septic tank. Needs a pole, meter and septic tank.

House Project 2: The Peace House

Home of Martin & Maria del Rosario with Children: Carmen (3 months), Citlali (9), Maria del Carmen (22), Jesus (28)

The father suffered a heart attack and is now disabled and in a wheel chair The walls of the house are disintegrating, and the structure is falling off the foundation. The roof is inadequate, has gaping holes, and is covered in tarps to help keep the rain out. The location is in the neighborhood where we build the house for Mireya last year. No sewer, needs septic, has a meter. House flooded, falling off the slab, water comes in from the roof

Roof Project 1: Power Line/Rail Road Track Area Family: Juanita, has 5 kids – Pablo (9) Cristal (2) Emily (10) Mario(6) Juan Carlos (12)

• Family moved to area from Sonora, Mexico to find work. They have been living in what they have

been able to piece together for about a year.

• Church has provided a tarp for the roof but it is very temporary and won’t last very long. Property

adjacient to primary storm drain and their structures are threatened during the rain season.

• Fr. Nick says that the family attends Mass regularly. They take great pride in their home and keep

the surrounding area clean . They have even been planting around the property with native plants.

• Family living in one structure which they have built themselves.

• With a roof structure and cement slab this family would be empowered to continue with the building after we leave.

• Sister and brother-in-law live next door with their daughter Aurora.

Husband is in prison, mother raising 4 children. There are three structures. One is sleeping area for all, one is a small cooking area with

school desk as a stove, third structure is not habitable and disintegrating. We would tear this structure down and put up a roof /garage door structure.

Mother burns plastic off wire and metal parts to recycle the metal for income, but is exposing the children to toxic fumes.

Roof Project #4: Area above power lines
