For the third year, Wilson Gym is seeking nominations for a Golden Apple teacher in our community. The winner will receive a $100 gift card on National Teacher’s Day.     Battle of the Books

    Sam Houston Junior High School’s Battle of the Books Classroom Challenge was held October 1st–31st. Each individual grade battled each other for the title of Tigerrific Readers and an ice cream sundae party.     Kinder Round Up! You’re invited to round up the minders for our annual Kindergarten early enrollment evening on December 16th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. #

    Remember to bring proof of residence (Electric Bill or Water Bill), immunization records for South Carolina, and a birth certificate for each child to be enrolled.#

    Transfers will be taken for the 2015–2016 school year.#

    We will look forward to seeing you! #

    Hanging from the Walls The Tiger Pawcasso wall is adorned with brilliant artwork once again. Take a stroll and gaze upon the artwork the students have created in expression of themselves with three dimensions, relief paintings, and sketches.#

    OUR FALL BOOK FAIR WILL BE HELD NOVEMBER 10TH–14TH IN THE TIGER STACKS PRESENTATION AREA. THE FAIR WILL NOT BE OPEN ON PREVIEW DAY, NOVEMBER 7TH, BUT STUDENTS MAY COMPLETE THEIR WISH LISTS FOR THE SHOPPING DAYS THE FOLLOWING WEEK. THE FAIR WILL BE OPEN DURING THE FAMILY LITERACY NIGHT EVENT ON NOVEMBER 13TH.

    Tiger Power Programs: Box Tops Contest Congratulations go out to Ms. Thomas AND Mr. Poole’s classes! They are the winners of our second Box Tops Classroom contest! Ms. Thomas’s class turned in the most Box Tops and Mr. Pool’s class had the most participants. Both classes will be receiving prizes.#

    Since October, we received $526 worth of Box Tops— way to go Tigers!#

    Thank you to all the participants. Our next contest will be in May, so keep those Box Tops coming in.#

    There is no easier way to raise money for our SHJH Tigers than by clipping Box Tops, Labels for Education, and shopping through the Box Tops Marketplace.#
