WHAT IS THE TIFFANY CIRCLE? The Tiffany Circle is a society of women leaders and philanthropists who support the Red Cross. By investing a minimum of $10,000 annually in the Canadian Red Cross, these women follow in the footsteps of a long line of women leaders who have helped the Red Cross serve the most vulnerable people during times of disaster and conflict, provide community support services to help people who are aging or recovering from illness or surgery remain living in the comfort of their own homes, and support healthy and safe communities through training and education. THE CANADIAN TIFFANY CIRCLE The Canadian Tiffany Circle is championed by Honorary Chair, Mrs. Laureen Harper, and Co-Chairs Ela Landegger and Miranda Hubbs. It was officially launched in September 2011 and continues to gather momentum in cities across the country, with members coast to coast. The Tiffany Circle provides volunteer, educational and social opportunities for women to network and invite their female family, friends and colleagues to join the Circle and support the Red Cross. AN INTERNATIONAL NETWORK OF WOMEN The American Red Cross started the first Tiffany Circle in 2007. Today they have nearly 1,000 members who have committed over $40 million to further the work of the Red Cross. Based on this success, the Red Cross is working together internationally to launch Tiffany Circles in countries around the world. The USA, Canada, Britain, France and Australia have established this program and other countries such as the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, Pakistan and Japan are interested as well. The ultimate goal? A strong international Tiffany Circle providing unique opportunities for women to engage in the Red Cross and network with other like-minded Tiffany Circle members around the globe. The name Tiffany and the $10,000 amount have historical significance. The Circle is named after the beautiful Tiffany windows at the American Red Cross headquarters produced by Tiffany Studios in 1917. As an act of reconciliation and hope, they were paid for with a $5,000 gift from the Women’s Relief Corps of the North and $5,000 from the United Daughters of the Confederacy of the South.
